Arnie begins by noticing that the Bible tells us to examine ourselves. It is up to each individual to do a self-examination to see if one is obeying what God says. This is the second and final episode that Arnie and Fred discuss how Christians should speak as God's word says. We continue looking at what Solomon said in his Proverbs. He consistently notes the difference between speaking wholesome words and those which are perverse. Solomon connects the words we use with our heart and mind which is where all words come from, whether good or evil. We continue to find passages in Proverbs that note the problem with lying and we discuss several of them. Jesus was very specific about swearing and we also consider what He said about that. Not surprisingly, Jesus mentioned hypocrites and we talk about what He said on that subject. Paul also had a good bit to say about the conversation of the Christians in his day. We note his guidance. In this first of two episodes, Arnie and Fred discuss what the Bible says about keeping from falling away. In our last episode we noted that the Bible listed several Christians who had fallen away, contrary to what a number of churches teach. We begin by noting that studying the word of truth regularly goes far to keep one faithful. We look at a number of passages that provide that guidance to us. There is a passage that specifically discusses assembling with the saints. We talk about this passage to see why this is so important. Arnie and Fred revisit this subject that we discussed in a previous episode several years ago, since it is perhaps the most important question one may ever ask. We start out by looking at the imprisonment of Paul and Silas and the discussion they had with their jailer when he asked them what he must do to be saved. Throughout this episode we will look at various other people that asked the same question. We will see that the answer to that question is consistent throughout the New Testament and is contrary to what many are told today by various religious people.
