January 22, 2023What Does the Bible Say About Life After Death #2?Send us Fan MailWe continue this discussion by reviewing three passages that refer to the second death which is the final consequence suffered by those who do not obey the gospel. We note that there seem to be many people who conclude that since the word gospel means good news that there are not any bad things related to it. They seem to believe that whatever they think the Bible teaches is in fact the truth and they are saved because they think so. We look at what Peter said about obeying what God says or what man says. So, we talk about the good news that the gospel contains but note that it does not ignore the evil that is in the world and reveals the consequences people face if they do not obey the gospel. In spite of this, it is a fact that most people do not obey it. We note some passages that would indicate this. We talk about the fact that many claim to be Christians, but don't behave like one and even some Christians are not faithful. We look at several instances in the Bible about some Christians who were disobedient and the consequences they suffered. We close this episode out by looking at a number of references to the judgment scene and the sentence received by those who failed to obey the gospel of Christ. We reiterate what Jesus said one must do to be saved from their sins. Take about 30 minutes to listen in on our discussion. January 15, 2023What Does the Bible Say About Life After Death?Send us Fan MailIn this episode, Arnie and Fred discuss what the Bible says about life after death. This follows our discussion of Jesus as the faithful witness and living faithfully to Him until we die. We had noted that Jesus experienced everything that we go through in the flesh and as a witness to that, He is in the best position to guide us on how to live faithfully. We look at the fact that He has given us all things related to faithful living and tells us what to expect when we die, both as righteous and unrighteous people. The Bible tells us that when we die, our soul and spirit go to Hades. We talk about what is said about Hades and what it is like there, according to what Jesus said in Luke 16. We then discuss what the Bible says about righteous and unrighteous ones after they die. This of course includes looking at the judgement scene in Matthew 25. We look at the description of heaven that the righteous ones will inherit after they are judged by the Lord. Finally, we look at descriptive passages of life after death for those who die having not obeyed the Lord. Take about 30 minutes to listen in on our discussion.
