In this third and final episode about wives, Arnie and Fred continue to discuss her God-given responsibility to keep the home. We note that materialism and necessity have lured many wives out of the home and into industry.  The result is many children know no mother but the babysitter, childcare business, TV, cell phone or the internet. We discuss the result in the USA of this lack of parental attention and guidance. We also note the use of material things to appease children and what this results in.  We talk about what happens when many women go into businesses and industries to work outside of the home.  The desire of wives to have an abundance of material things sometimes requires the husband to take second jobs to make the money to buy those things.  We discuss what it means for the father/husband to be away from the home. We talk about God's design of the home and note each of the important responsibilities of the wife and mother. There are also spiritual aspects of the wife's role. In this second episode on what the Bible says about wives, Arnie and Fred begin by looking at passages that teach the wife is to be obedient to her husband. We note the application of this requirement that God instituted. Peter goes to the Old Testament and notes the relationship Sarah had with Abraham and we talk about that.  We discuss what happens when wives fail to follow God's instructions and we specifically note the effect that may have on the children.  There are a number of passages that teach that the wife is to be the keeper of the home. In this episode, Arnie and Fred begin a discussion of what the Bible says about wives and their role in the marriage relationship. We begin, as we did in the episodes about husbands, that God established the marriage relationship and the roles for husbands and wives in the marriage. We note that the Bible says that the wife must love her husband and it is so obvious that it is often taken for granted to the detriment of the marriage. This is actually commanded in the Bible. We talk about a number of reasons that many women marry for and how these might affect a marriage. The Bibe teaches that the wife is to support her husband as passages in Genesis tell us.  We discuss passages in the Bible that say that the wife must be subject to her husband which includes the subject of headship and what that means. In this third and final episode about husbands, Arnie and Fred discuss the fact that God intentionally arranged the family with the husband as the head. Part of this discussion includes the modern feminist demand that wives be equally in charge in the family. We note that when God's way is not followed, things tend not to work out well for the family. We look at God's law of headship and note that it is patterned like Christ's over His church. Since God placed husbands in this position of head over the wife, we talk about the husband's accountability to God for how he exercises his authority in the family. We close out this episode by noting the spiritual aspects of his role as head of the family. As Christ loved the church as His bride even so ought husbands to love their wives. We look at the prophetic and historical passages that clear up any confusion on this.  There seems to be much confusion about the last days or last times that the Bible speaks of. We look at passages that are clear as to when the last days or last times began. Some of those passages also discuss antichrist which is very instructive of who he is and when he existed. We hear numerous discussions about the Lord's kingdom, when and where it is established. We talk about a number of passages that are very clear about what the Lord's kingdom is. In this episode Arnie and Fred continue their discussion of some of the things many are confused about. In the last episode we were looking at passages that reveal God's foreknowledge of the intentions of Jesus' foes to defeat Him. However, He promised to defeat them and make Jesus King. We continue that discussion and look at three more passages that reveal that truth. We next note that Jesus promised that His kingdom would come during the lifetime of some of His hearers, which is identified as the last days. There are numerous passages in the Old Testament that record God's promise to David that his descendant would rule on his throne. We look at some of those passages and at the application of those passages by the Holy Spirit inspired apostles. We talk about what it means to deny that Jesus is ruling on David's throne now.
