Dorothy Stratten was a rising model and actress with endless opportunities in front of her.  She already won Playmate Of The Year for 1980 and was dating famous director Peter Bogdanovich.  She was filming a movie with John Ritter, what could be better than that. 

Unfortunately, she had a pimp husband named Paul Snyder.  Paul was a founder of the Chippendale's but also a small time pimp with small time brain. Paul was a egomaniac and control freak.  He saw Dorothy as a beautiful bank nd not a loving wife.  As their divorce was winding down to a close, Paul decided he was going to hang on to Dorothy forever.
