Welcome to What The Heck season 3! This podcast explores unexplained phenomena using stories gathered from various sources, then applies an academic research method to find theories and solutions for each one. So far, we've been unsuccessful in finding any concrete answers, but one of the stories we've covered has been solved. This week your host, Glen, is going to look at Harold Holt. Australia's 17th Prime Minister isn't really remembered for being Prime Minister. He introduced decimal currency to the country, and got the Commonwealth constitution changed to include Australian natives, but he's not remembered for that. He's also not remembered for sending over 6000 Australian tropps to Vietnam to aid the US in their war. He's remembered for disappearing in 1967. It's very unclear what actually happened, aside from the fact that he was swimming when it happened. Join us as we look at the story and theories that people have floated about.

His contacts in IT had told him about something that sent Danny down the rabbit hole. Danny thought he had uncovered a secret organisation and, the day of his death, he met his final informant. This informant was supposedly going to blow the investigation wide open. What was the mysterious organisation? How did Danny Casolaro get involved in an investigation? The terms dark web and deep web are often used interchangeably, but each one is a different part of the internet and it's important to make sure we know which one we're referring to. Instead of theories this week, we'll be looking into the history of the internet and how the deep and dark webs came to be. We'll also be looking at how the deep web has been shaped by government involvement. What are the deep and dark webs? What are they used for? Are they only used for nefarious purposes, or is there some good inside? Join Glen as he tells the story and looks at all the theories!

This week, the first Creature Feature of Season 3, we're looking at tulpa. Glen's mentioned tulpa already this season, during the first episode. Now it's time to really look at what they are! It comes from Buddhist folklore, and was initially seen as a show of spiritual power. In the modern day though, people known as tulpamancers have appeared all over the internet and changed how we view tulpa.

The usual "history, description, then theory" formula is a little disrupted this episode due to thenature of tulpa, but that allows for a deeper look at tulpamancy and how it works. Is a tulpa similar to an imaginary friend or is it completely separate? What can a tulpa do? Come and listen to the episode to see if we found any answers!
