Whats Next!? Podcast

This is a story of a creative, who had aspirations outside of his nine to five but needed to supplement his income so He entered the world of coach sports! Little did he know that ,that would take him further from his goal! He set a goal to acquire his masters by the time the class of 2019 graduated; then pushed it back to the class of 2020's graduation! One day he was introduced to the idea of going to Real Estate school! At the time he had his first podcast going but He jumped at the offer because he was hyped that that was something He could be really good at! Hurricane Harvey struck forcing him to lock in and start real estate school! There was no motivation! 2020 the motivation came! He finished his Real estate program in September 2020 and would take 9 attempts to pass his State exam! ON February 21, 2021 I PASSED. 20 years of friendship well 21 years to be exact and counting! The year is 2000, the location is Booker T. "In anything in life one day you're going to get your wake up call"- Anthony Odunsi. My man Phil used to talk about his phenom cousin. I know Phil not to be a guy who repeats himself, but anytime we spoke about basketball He would insert his cousin! I met Phil in 2003 and didn’t met Poppa for the first time until we recorded episode 104 (at least I believe that was our first time being acquainted). Poppa was a child from New Territory who worked his way to becoming a professional basketball player! In this episode, Poppa defines himself as (8:17) as a grinder because his Amazon best seller book derived from it. The Wake Up Call, comes from the sign Poppa received during his journey in basketball. People should take that (9:41) many people talk it but He lived it and went through it. I thought a sure way of making money was providing a service! At least that'ss what I heard Michael Aigbedion say one time! That's not to say that making money is everything and I'd be lying if I said that making money wasn't a goal; but I'm 36 and if not now when! When this episode was recorded, Zen said "The easiest way to make money is to solve someone's problem" I thought to myself had I been missing it all along! I see a lot of myself in Zen and her journey and it was solving her problem that afforded be a chance to get close enough to soak up some knowledge. On this episode, the What should people take segment came a little later because I knew it would come out when Zen got to speaking! Zen believes that people should take (27:39) growth takes some decisive action and if you want to change you have to expose yourself to new things. I have said before that the episode that I was currently dropping was a special one. For various reasons that statement was true; this time around it carries more weight! The year was 2014, I had just come back to HISD and started my educating career tutoring at Waltrip High School. I spent time dealing with the kids that had been placed in in-school detention! That's when I met Coach Morris. We would go on to cultivate a friendship and brotherhood! Through the many basketball practices, tournaments and games Coach Morris and I have conversed on a slew of topics that have laid dormant until now!
