What's Your Mount Rushmore?

Ozzy Osbourne... the Prince of Darkness, the Godfather of Heavy Metal. His music shaped our appreciation for hard rock and metal music at a young age. And his family helped to kick off the whole reality show craze with their MTV series. He was an innovator in so many ways and we wanted to honor him and his legacy. But if you need to list the top 4 songs from his massive catalog, where do you start? Between his solo career and his time as the front man for Black Sabbath he sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. His songs have been featured in countless TV shows and movies. He has influenced just about every hard rock and metal musician of the last 50 years. It was not easy, but we each narrowed our lists down to our top four choices and we're happy with the results. You'll hear songs from his whole career, representing six different albums. And you'll learn some fun facts along the way. RIP Ozzy! 🤘What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? The NFL season is underway! Awhile back we did an episode listing our Mount Rushmore of NFL Quarterbacks, and with football back we decided to visit the gridiron once again. We didn't think too much about positions when putting together our Mount Rushmore of NFL Hall of Famers, and by coincidence we both chose different positions for each of our four players. We only match on one guy and if you're a Minnesota sports fan you can probably guess who that was. These lists represent the best of the best on the field, and some very interesting characters off the field. Some of the guys on our lists have made an even bigger name for themselves since they hung up their cleats. What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Hate our choices? Over the years we have always noticed how many songs have a color in their title. And just about every color of the rainbow is represented in some song title somewhere. To make this episode a little more interesting and a little more colorful, we decided to push all songs with the color "black" to the side. Because there are SOOO many of those songs, we'll do a separate episode some time down the road just highlight those songs. In total we have seven different colors listed in our songs, including two gold and one song each in the colors white, blue, red, pink, yellow and even an orange. No need to guess what they were, just listen to find out! What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Hate our choices? Please leave a comment with your suggestions. Mount Rushmore of Movie Slobs

Slobs are everywhere. Movies, TV and certainly in our day to day lives. So we decided to celebrate them in this week's episode! We focused on slobs from the movie world, but may someday tackle our favorite slobs from TV.What makes a good slob? It could be their look, their clothes, their behavior or just their overall attitude. We choose slobs that each check some of those boxes. Some of them check ALL those boxes! We only matched on one slob and it was a pretty obvious one from one of our all time favorite movies. What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Hate our choices? Mount Rushmore of 1980s Action / Drama TV Series 📺

We both grew up in the '80s and watched a ton of TV. You probably could have guessed that based on some of our past episodes like our Mount Rushmore of 1980s Sitcoms episode we did awhile back. This week we're heading back to that decade of big hair, bright colors and cool cars... all things that were featured in many action & drama TV series throughout the 1980s. With so many shows to choose from, how did we narrow down to just four picks each to put on the mountain? Listen along and find out! Surprisingly, despite us both liking a lot of the same shows, we did not match on any of our picks. What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Hate our choices? Mount Rushmore of Phobias

This week's episode was uncomfortable to think about, uncomfortable to record and it's even uncomfortable for us to listen to it! That's because we got personal and are both listing our Mount Rushmore of Phobias. These lists are personal to us, but we're pretty sure a few of our phobias are shared by a lot of our listeners too. You'll take a deep dive into our subconscious minds in this episode, along with the typical funny nonsense you get from every one of our episodes! What did we miss? Did we list any of your phobias? Do you think any of our phobias are ridiculous? Please leave a comment with your thoughts!

Awhile back we did an episode listing our Mount Rushmore of Movie Sequels. While we were putting together lists of our favorite sequels, it became clear to us that there are far more BAD sequels than there are good ones. So we decided to revisit the topic, but with a negative spin! This week we're listing our Mount Rushmore of Worst Movie Sequels and man, there are a lot of stinkers to choose from! When they announce an upcoming sequel to one of your favorite movies it can bring mixed emotions. On one hand, you're excited to revisit some of those characters in a new story line. But you also worry they will take something great and ruin it. And that is exactly what happened with these movies. We both approached this list in a similar way. We chose sequels that followed movies we actually liked. To call it one of the worst sequels ever made, you need to have an appreciation for the movie (or movies) that came before it. So if you're playing along while listening, keep that in mind and try to choose sequels that followed a movie you really enjoyed. What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Mount Rushmore of Overplayed SongsFor this week's episode we each chose songs we feel are overplayed. As you can imagine the list includes some of the more popular songs of all time, and cover a range of 40 years. With some of the songs we picked, we actually liked them when they first came out, but over time we just heard them way to much and are now sick of them. But other songs we never liked at all and unfortunately have had to hear them over and over and over again.Just by coincidence we both chose at least one song from bands we actually like a lot, but they just have that one song that we don't need to hear today, tomorrow... or ever again. What did we miss? We were fortunate enough to work in radio for many years and that put us in the position to meet a lot of famous people. Actors, musicians, athletes, you name it.For this episode we wanted to bring an actual celebrity in to help us, so we reached out to our old friend Angi Taylor, who Minnesotans will remember from her time with the Dave Ryan in the Morning Show on 101.3 KDWB. Since leaving the Twin Cities she has hosted radio shows in Philadelphia and Chicago, where she currently lives. Angi's unique perspective on this subject made her the perfect guest and she shares some hilarious celebrity encounters as part of her Mount Rushmore list! What did we miss? Mount Rushmore of 1990s Sitcoms 📺We have admitted in the past to being TV junkies and we are both big fans of the long lost artform known as the sitcom. We did an episode earlier this year listing our favorite sitcoms from the 1980s with special guest Terry Daniel. When we decided to revisit this topic for sitcoms of the 1990s we wanted to bring in another special guest. And we just happen to know someone who herself appeared on a very popular 1990s sitcom! We have known Jennifer Lundquist since the late '90s when she worked for us as an intern at the radio station KDWB. A few years after that she was lucky enough to be an extra on the biggest TV show of that era! She shares the story of how that came to be, what it was like being on set, and getting to meet one of the stars. Enjoy this one! What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites?
