Mount Rushmore of Metallica Songs 🤘Metallica is one of the biggest rock bands on the planet, and we have been fans of them since we were teenagers. As usual it was not easy narrowing on four picks for this list - especially looking back at more than 40 years of amazing music. We knew it would be a tough one so we brought in a true heavy hitter to help us with this episode. The one and only long-haired, Harley-riding, tattooed Dirtbag Dujour... Remy Maxwell. Those are HIS words by the way! Remy is a fixture in Twin Cities radio, currently as the voice of Jack-FM. But he also has a long history in rock radio, has worked as a recording engineer and is a lifelong Metallica fan. His first time seeing them live in concert goes back to 1986!Between the three of us we did match on a few songs. We picked some of the most popular tunes, but also dug deep for some album tracks. Any fan of Metallica will love this episode. Remy even shares a couple Metallica stories that are very unique to him. What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Hate our choices? The Muppets have been important to us our whole lives. From watching the original show, to those 1980s movies, toys and lunchboxes. And as adults we have continued to enjoy the Muppets through TV series and movies in the last 15 years or so. A lot of the topics we cover are meaningful to Gen-Xers, but this one crosses multiple generations. Our little goofy puppet friends have been entertaining us, and stayed relevant in pop culture for more than 50 years. And the very first Muppet characters go back even further, as Mark explains in this episode. We all have our favorites, and this was fun choosing our top 4. Thank you to Jim Henson and the rest of his crew for bringing these magical little beings to life! Enjoy this episode, and leave a comment! What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Mount Rushmore of Beer 🍺

We know Americans didn't invent beer, but there is just something about enjoying a cold beer in a frosty mug on a warm summer's day that feels so American. And now that summer is here, we're ready to do just that.

With hundreds of beers to choose from in the world, we had to think a bit to narrow it down to four. Jon is little more adventurous in his beer drinking than Mark, having visited craft breweries in about a dozen different states. But we both share a love for this topic.

We also shared one of our picks in this episode, and that beer is very appropriate for this time of year. And in fact one of us was actually enjoying this beer WHILE recording the episode. Listen along to find out who had cracked open a cold one to get in the beer drinking spirit.

Mount Rushmore of Summer Songs 😎

We grew up living for summers like most Midwestern kids do. And this time of year we're easily reminded of those carefree days of youth... especially when we hear certain songs! There is something about a good summer song... when you hear them in January they make you long for warmer weather. And when you hear them in July they make you want to open a cold one and go find a lake somewhere. We had a lot of fun with these lists and picked a few cliche songs but also some you may not think of right away. And as always, we mix in some fun clips and stories. Grab your shades, pull up a lawn chair and give this one a listen! What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Hate our choices? Mount Rushmore of Romantic Comedies 💕

If you have listened to our episodes or know us well, you might wonder how a couple dopes like us could possibly list our favorite Rom Com movies. Believe it or not, we have a sappy side too! But to do this topic the right way we knew we needed a female perspective. That's where our guest Annie Ellis comes in! Annie went to high school with Mark and shares a brief radio history with the three of us which we touch on a bit. She was the perfect guest to join us and her picks were awesome! Each of us left this episode wanting to revisit a few movies and after listening we think you will too. Grab some popcorn and box of Kleenex and settle in for some fun! What did we miss? Mount Rushmore of Annoying TV Characters 📺

We are not afraid to admit we watch a lot of TV. And we have watched a lot of TV our whole lives. That's kind of a Gen-X thing isn't it? When you watch as much TV as we have over the last 40+ years you are bound to get annoyed by some TV characters. So what makes them annoying? Are they bad people who do bad things on the show? Are they whiny, irritating, un-funny, boring and pointless? The people on our lists cover ALL of those things! Our picks range from the 1970s to the 2010s. They include dramas, sitcoms and even a cartoon! What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Hate our choices? Please leave a comment with your suggestions. We always want to know... Americans have a true love affair with Muscle Cars. And that goes double for the guys on this podcast. Could it be because they are fast, have a badass look and are obnoxiously loud... just like we are? 😁 I think so.We knew we needed a guest for this episode that was much more of an expert on this topic than we were, so we enlisted one of Mark's childhood friends, Reg Larson. Reg is a car enthusiast who doesn't just love these classic cars, he has owned them. In fact the first pick on his Mount Rushmore list is a late '60s icon that is sitting in his garage right now.If you love these cars as much as we do you will really love this episode. And even if muscle cars are not your thing, we tell some fun stories and we bet you'll be laughing right along with us.What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Hate our choices? Mount Rushmore of Guilty Pleasure Movies 🎬We brought in a special guest for this episode, our old friend and former coworker Anna Koehler. She's a firecracker and thoughts she'd be a fun guest for an episode like this... and she didn't disappoint! What makes a movie a Guilty Pleasure? We all had slightly different definitions and share them as we make our picks. But one thing we agreed on is that we are a little embarrassed to say we like these movies as much as we do, for various reasons. Anna actually takes some shots at a movie that is about as Minnesotan as it gets, pointing out why it's not the great movie we think it is. And after hearing her reasons... we kind of agree with her! What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Hate our choices? Please leave a comment with your suggestions.
