Mount Rushmore of Stoner Movies 😎Hey bud, how's it going? We've got some cool vibes for you today in the form of our favorite Stoner Movies! We're joined by an old friend, Eric Redlinger who owns and operates the company Minneleaf. They specialize in low dose hemp derived products for relaxation, sleep aid, pain relief and more. You see how he ties into this topic? 😁We had a few matches on our lists because great minds think alike. The movies we picked are some of the funniest movies ever made, and they just happen to be Stoner Movies! One of the movies we chose would actually make all three of our Mount Rushmore lists of ANY style / genre of movie. Can you guess what movie that is? Listen to this episode and find out! What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Hate our choices? Please leave a comment with your suggestions. We always want to know... When you see the title of this episode there are three possible reactions: 1. You love The Jerky Boys and can't wait to listen2. You think their humor is stupid and you'll be skipping this week's episode. 3. You have no idea who the hell The Jerky Boys are. What, did they make dehydrated beef or something?Mark and Jon would fall into the first category. We both loved The Jerky Boys style of comedy and prank phone calls from the first time we heard them more than 30 years ago. They released a couple awesome CDs full of their bits as well as a major motion picture... that wasn't so awesome. We had a blast going back and listening to these old classic bits and choosing our Mount Rushmore lists. As always, we're including clips of our favorites so we think you'll laugh right along with us. What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Hate our choices? Mount Rushmore of Martial Arts Movies 🥋Martial Arts movies are one of those genres that you either love, or they are boring to you. We both happen to love them! The heyday of martial arts movies is probably in the past, you just don't see too many of them being made these days. Which probably explains why most of our movies are decades old. In fact, of the eight movies we have on our combined lists, only two of them were made in this century. We cover straight up martial arts movies, action comedies and stir up some serious nostalgia in this episode. Let us be your Sensei for this fun journey! What did we miss? Mount Rushmore of Beatles Songs 🎸"Ladies and Gentlemen... The Beatles!" Even before the moment Ed Sullivan said those words in 1964, the US had a fascination with these lads from Liverpool known as The Beatles. They topped the billboard charts over and over and they sold out arenas and stadiums in their short time as a touring band. But it's their legacy over the last 60 years that has made them the iconic band they are, having influenced the music in all genres and styles since. We love the Beatles and when we decided to do this episode we had to bring in the one person we know who loves them even more than we do. Our long time friend and former coworker Kris Cegla joins us and adds her picks to the mountain. It's not easy to narrow down your favorites to only 4 choices, but we each did that here. Along the way we tell some stories, spit some facts and have some laughs. Hope you enjoy it! What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Hate our choices? Mount Rushmore of Why We Love Baseball ⚾It's opening week in the MLB and we decided this was the perfect time to write our love letters to the game of baseball... in the form of this episode! We are both big fans of baseball, whether going to games or watching on TV. We both played baseball as kids and Mark has coached his son in baseball for many years. We both agreed there are probably a hundred reasons why we love the game so much. But we narrowed our lists down to four things each. This is a bit different than most episodes as some of the reasons we list are a bit abstract. But I think any sports fan will be able to follow along... and we hope you do!What did we miss? Jon says in the beginning of this episode that he believes this to be the most wonderful time of the year for sports. The NBA and NHL playoffs are starting soon, the baseball season is about to begin and most importantly it's time for March Madness! We both love basketball and the NCAA tournament but that's not what this episode is about. We're listing our favorite college mascots. And these choices are not directly tied to our appreciation for the sports teams of these schools. Or even the schools themselves. In a few cases we chose mascots for schools we don't particularly like... but we love their mascot! What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites? Hate our choices? When a movie you love ends, you sometimes wish the story could continue. The good news is that many great movies do indeed get sequels. The bad news... usually the sequels suck! But that is not always the case. Which gives us the opportunity to do an episode about our favorite movie sequels. Some of our picks will be very obvious. They are from big time movie franchises. But we both have a pick or two that will surprise you. Spoil yourself with some extra butter on that popcorn while you listen to this one. 🍿 You deserve it. Some people say the 1980s was the golden era of the sitcom. Must see TV. You could sit in front of the TV on any given network and watch up to four hilarious shows back to back. Things have definitely changed and now you're lucky to find four really funny sitcoms throughout the entire week.Having grown up in the 1980s this was a topic we fully embraced. And we brought back our very first guest host to help us out. Terry Daniel helped us on our episode about 1980s Comedy Movies so this was the perfect chance to bring him back. Does Terry's voice sound familiar? It should.. he is the guy you hear on our show opener each and every episode. No laugh track needed for this one.. we've got you covered! What did we miss? Mount Rushmore of Dog Breeds 🐶For this special episode we brought in a special guest, Mike Ploumen. Mark and Mike have been best friends since they were kids, and both grew up loving dogs. And as an adult, Mike has worked his entire career as a police officer, serving the city of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. But what makes Mike a particularly good guest for THIS episode is that for 12 of his years in law enforcement he worked as a K9 handler, keeping the city of Brooklyn Park safe with the help of his K9 partner. The three of us share a love of dogs, regardless of the breed. But the challenge as always is to choose our top four. We tell some stories, share some laughs and we think you'll enjoy this episode as much as a good old fashioned belly rub. Such a gooood boooyyy! What did we miss? Did we list some of your favorites?
