Wheel of Mind: A Wheel of Time Character Reread Podcast

Wheel of Mind goes off the rails a bit. In this Moiraine season, for lucky episode 13, we talk very little of her! The first half is the Verin show. After that, we get into some adoption talk and speculate briefly about how Moiraine knows Tam's backstory. We end with an aftershow all about Rand's heritage, Tam, casting, and more!

This version of the file is not living its best life today, but in the interest of getting the show out on time, we've decided to release this version. Some audio-smithing over the next few days will likely get you a better one, as my audio only being in your left ear (and too loud) may be maddening.

Join Lajara and Giskell as we take the podcast a bit off the rails. We start by analyzing Moiraine's two-paragraph POV in the Eye of the World. Then, we launch into some favorite Moiraine moments from the rest of the book. After all, lots of what the reader first learns about her character is her mysterious nature from others' points of view. We wander quite a bit: the whole episode felt like aftershow and we loved every second of it. We experimented with the recording setup a bit, and it's not perfect, but we're improving all the time.

We wrap up New Spring! Lajara talks a lot about vulnerability again and Giskell finds a MASSIVE plothole in the end of the book. Join us as we finish this text and lay the groundwork for the rest of the main books.

Giskell and Lajara spend at least SOME of the time talking about New Spring. We also have a blooper reel, ramble about gender roles for about 15 minutes, talk about knives, compare stinkiness bones and horns, and talk about spicy food tolerance. Any time you hear a bleep, it is never Giskell swearing: he walks in the Light far too much for that. Instead, it's just Lajara trying not to dox any loved ones.
