Join us, as we examine this Rom Com, love triangle blueprint of a movie, and take a stroll with us on a rainy and steamy, “Sunday In New York.” Jane Fonda bats this one out of the park, taking all her mustered up training as an actor to portray a virgin. (….Who said that?) Seriously, despite her second billing to a male character with a smaller role than hers, she acts her heart out in this film, delivering expert comedic timing and wide eyed disbelief that would make Lucile Ball finally push the marital twin beds together on the “I Love Lucy” set. This movie teases the ole’ classic cinematic seduction scene, but makes it brunch: Sultry music, Bloody Marys, sneaky, stolen moments, hot toddy’s, and don’t forget the bagels. There’s an uncouth American Pie joke in here, somewhere.

This movie presents the all too irresistible “ungetable get” - a lithe, blonde Gwyneth Paltrow, coldly using “Finn” for his artistic skill, and cock teasing the boy from the poor side of the tracks into a whirring dervish of life-long obsession, for her own devices. Ah yes, the battle of the sexes or the battle of the sexist? You make the call.

Complete with NYC Beauty shot porn, and a stellar soundtrack in which Tori Amos’s breathy whispers and gasps can be enjoyed, we dive into discussion of the thematic directorial choices that embody this movie, and fill us with Great Expectations of a movie that surprisingly still holds up. Finally a movie with a title Sarah can get behind. If you loathe Hallmark created high pressure Hollidays, this movie is for you!  The power duo of Nia Vardalos and John Corbett from  “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” reunites again, most likely to propel her real life divorce, and (brace yourselves)...this time, Nia is blonde.

Sarah and Heather hash the merits and pitfalls of the ole’ VD, and how they play out in this cute, but fairly predictable Rom Com revolving around a Tapas restaurant.

Heather says it is worth a watch for the NYC beauty shots alone!

This week’s episode delves into the time capsule that is a true ode to the Mid 90’s. When baby doll dresses, questioning authority, and the ole’ Michelin dinner pairing of diet coke and cigarettes was revered. Sigh. Those were the days... Remember when you still wanted to change the world? 

Ben Stiller directs this coming of age ensemble cast, where you can still openly lust after Ethan Hawke’s floppy, careless hair, still see the smoldering lust of platonic passion in Winona Ryder's chocolate brown eyes, and hear Janeane Garofalo’s sarcastic one-liner comedic perfection. Oh, and also talk about getting HIV tests.  

Complete with a colorful, eclectic soundtrack and an Onion style dig at MTV. Join us as we discuss a movie with the most fitting, ever- timeless name: Reality Bites.

This steamy, summer camp classic certainly holds up.  

If you haven’t seen it in a while, do yourself a favor and put on this cinematic aphrodisiac!

This Episode, Sarah and Heather discuss the “Hate/Hate” sizzling chemistry between Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Gray was off the charts! A major “No-Mance” for the books, but boy, how they fit together….. Is it hot in here? Just me? 

Take a trip down Kellerman lane with us as we dish about lawn games, discuss the Mambo versus the Lambada, the infamous dance lift, and fantasize about playing “She’s like the Wind,” to our 7th grade crushes on the trumpet.

If you are nostalgic for crimped hair, bro code, and cocaine, you’re in luck because this week Sarah and Heather re-watched St. Elmo’s Fire for the 400th time, and Heather hated it surprisingly less. In summation, the Brat Pack graduates from college, and their weekly detention meetings move to a dive bar full of scorching hot saxophone players, torch-carrying romantic friendships, fear of commitment disguised as hyper promiscuity, and problematic stalking that was considered cute back then. Anyone else miss 1985?

Join us as we pillage and plunder the vestiges of the 80’s co-ed friendship tribe as it slowly, and painfully unravels, and maturity comes calling them all to brunch.

Ah yes, the glorious late 90’s.  When Gywnneth wasn’t yet steaming her bean, and hadn’t thrown in the towel on acting (yet.) This movie gave adequate reasons why her character might be rather steamed, as her worthless bloke of a boyfriend plays every horrible, gutless, cheating trope that ever troped.

Cleverly diverting this story into two parallel “Choose your own adventures," delightfully showing what might have transpired if she missed her fateful tube ride home, versus just making it by the skin of a sliding door. Sarah and Heather additionally discuss moments in their own lives in which their fate might have been changed in a drastic way if they choose paper instead of plastic, begging the question of the movie’s underlying theme: What’s meant for you, will eventually find you. But we’re still waiting….. We want a refund, Cruel Fate!

Before Midnight. “The end of the affair,” and the end of the trilogy...

This is the morning after movie. When you wake up after the hot night before, bottles strewn about the room, the bed sheets on the floor like a make-shift moat for the mattress castle of passion. Harsh daylight streams into the room, highlighting the dust beams, and your eyes squint as your head throbs.  

Is your lover from the night before still there?? Rub your eyes, chug some water, and look around… then watch this movie. 

In this third movie, Celine and Jesse level with us and each other. Is the thrill gone? Have obligations, familiarity, and endless responsibility finally murdered love? 

Albeit plenty of gushingly romantic scenery accompanies this night-of-the-soul questioning, as this setting takes place in Greece, and features one of their famous contemplative walks and trademark Linklater-curated endless takes. But this movie gets to the gristle and bone of what’s left when you’ve called your Uber after your one-night stand, and awkwardly standing in the foyer. Will you keep choosing them? Again and again? 

Sarah and Heather explore and expound on this epic epistle to love’s longevity. Join us as we race the clocks to just “Before Midnight.”

You cannot beat this ultra rich, beautifully curated Godmother of rom-coms that is a cinematic tribute to the exploration of the polarizing question: Can Men and Women ever be “Just Friends?” (In Bed)(On the Side)

Join us as we celebrate our forever comedic inspo as two wrongs eventually make a right, despite all their best efforts. What can we say, it's about old friends.

Oh look, it’s a Christmas movie we don’t Love Actually hate. (That’s no typo)

Now I know why I like it so much…This holiday movie might possibly be the cinematic embodiment of that famous Christmas song by The Waitresses, “Christmas Wrapping." (The highest of seasonal compliments…)

Add in Kate Winslet and Jude Law, along with Unrequited love, English-Countryside-in-the-snow Porn with cozy pubs, roaring fires, living room tents, and full glasses of red wine consumed in cozy sweaters, with the expected Cameron Diaz dance scene, of course, and you get a Christmas movie that doesn’t suck! These ladies are doing Christmas for themselves after ditching the narcissistic zeros, so of course that means two evolved, decent men who care about feelings should, by my clock, magically appear!

The moral of this story: Forget about Wife swapping, let’s House swap!
