“The only thing more unthinkable than leaving was staying; the only thing more impossible than staying was leaving. I didn't want to destroy anything or anybody. I just wanted to slip quietly out the back door, without causing any fuss or consequences, and then not stop running until I reached Greenland.”
― Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love
This BOOK. Oh, this book rocked the lives of so many women. The movie is certainly decent, but this is a case where Heather implores you to read the book. (Insert Sarah rolling her eyes…)
The movie is pure location porn: Bustling and soul starved New York, to the pasta aromas in succulent Rome, to a magical ashram in India with roaming, wild elephants, and finally to the exquisite white sand shores of pungently perfect Bali. It’s the very definition of sensory overload. Not to mention the raw and pure emotional components. No mainstream movie has dared to tackle the elusive concept of obtaining closure and explored exposing one’s vulnerability to the core, quite like this one.
And yes, not everyone can afford a decadent, sensational sojourn around the world, taking a year off to, “Find Yourself,” but one can certainly relate to the lessons uncovered in finally learning to hear your own voice when faced with self imposed loneliness and the gift of seeing things more clearly from a distance. And obtaining closure. Have we mentioned closure yet? Oh, we will...
Join us as we bask in the journey back to self, source, and wild fantasizing about our next leg in “Sarah’s Vision.”
