Master Chief Anderson, a man of integrity and strong leadership, is always improving and says he’ll never reach his peak on learning to improve his self and patient care. Master Chief Anderson sacrificed 31 years for the USCG, and had an illustrious career.
Master Chief Anderson originally enlisted in the Navy in June 1988. Upon graduating from basic training at Naval Training Center San Diego CA, he attended the Navy Hospital Corpsman ‘A’ School located at Naval Hospital San Diego, CA. His first tour of duty was with the Naval Hospital located in Beaufort SC, followed by a tour at the Naval Hospital in Okinawa Japan. Upon leaving the Navy in 1992, HM3 Anderson joined the U.S. Coast Guard and attended basic training at Cape May NJ. His first tour of duty was onboard the USCGC Gallatin homeported at Governor Island, NY. In 1994 he attended the Health Services Dental Technician School. Upon graduation, HSD3 Anderson was station at Support Center Elizabeth City NC. In 1996, HSD3 Anderson attended the Health Services Technician ‘A’ School located at Training Center Petaluma, CA. After graduation, HS3 Anderson was transferred to the Integrated Support Command Boston, MA. His other assignments include: Support Center Elizabeth City, NC, USCGC Eagle, Safety and Environment Health Detachment New Orleans. He has served as the Senior Independent Health Services Technician for Health Safety and Worklife District 5 Regional Practice and is the only Active Duty Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) instructor in the Coast Guard certified by The International Critical Stress Foundation (ICISF).
Master Chief Anderson’s personal awards include two Coast Guard Commendation Medals, three Coast Guard Achievement Medals with “O” device, Commandant’s Letter of Commendation with “O” device and numerous other personal and service awards.
