As Ohio does their part to flatten the curve of the Coronavirus, Whiskey Business recorded remotely and on Facebook Live to learn more about this pandemic.

Dan Skinner, Associate Professor of Health Policy at Ohio University’s College of Medicine and host of the podcast Prognosis Ohio, was our guest as we discussed where we are at, where we are going and what else can we do as we all valiantly struggle to get through this crisis. Whiskey Business had an insightful, fun and interesting chat with Tommy Gallo, owner of Gallo’s Kitchen, one of the best restaurants in Columbus, Ohio. They offer a unique combination of Italian and Creole dishes that are tremendous. Tommy himself is unique as well with his thoughts and perspectives on this fickle industry and life itself.

Ironically this podcast took place just before Ohio shut down all bars and restaurants to prevent the spread of COVID-19. You can still get carry out meals from Gallo’s Kitchen, but don’t miss the opportunity to get a full helping of this podcast with a great guest.

The Superintendent of Liquor Control for The State of Ohio, James Canepa returned to Whiskey Business with new insights, scoops and even some “Mean Tweets” from disgruntled purchasers of alcohol in Ohio.

The “scoop” is a new member in the Jim Beam world of bourbons that’s finally making its way to Ohio. It’s reasonably priced and will be a big hit on the shelves. Tune in to find out what’s coming!

There’s also an update on those Weller Full Proof bottles we (ahem) “suffered” through numerous tastings in order to pick the right ones.

Part podcast. Part comedy show. Part gameshow. You get it all when Whiskey Business presents The Premise recorded live on The Upfront Stage at Shadowbox Live in Columbus, Ohio.

This month we widened the parameters of the “funny” by adding “sketch comedy” to the mix. The rules were still the same, but this time the premises were suited for sketch comedy.

Two great teams, Adamantly Indifferent with Jeff Gage and Rob Wahl went up against Savage Tech with Joel Savage and Lindsey Bowes. Also in the mix was guest comedian, Bill Arrundale who delivered a strong set that will have us all shopping at Wal-Mart.

Dino and the Whiskey Business Crew went on location to High Bank Distillery and had a great talk with co-owner Adam Hines. They dig into the birth, future, and the remarkable impact High Bank has had on the industry since its inception in 2018.

Of course the night was not without tastings. The boys went through a flight of all of the High Bank whiskies available and even got a sneak peak at what’s to come. Listen, learn and laugh a little too. It’s High Bank Distillery blending nicely with Whiskey Business.
