I’m joined on this episode by Camryn and Jeremy Davidson. They’re from Kentucky and this more of a bs session about how they got into hunting and different hunting stories, like our first deer. We talk what it’s like for Camryn to be a women in the industry and all the ups and downs that come along with it. We go into the locations we’re putting them in, the scents we are adding to them to make them seem as realistic as possible, and also the different things you can do to creat these mock scrapes. We talk about why the deer use mock scrapes and why they are a vital tool every hunter should be using!! We also talk about trail cameras and deer food sources and a bunch in between. Gavin and Jon are joined by guest Chase Turner who hunts small parcel Whitetails in the suburbs of Atlanta Georgia!! He talks about his approach to getting door knocking permission properties to get after these back yard bucks!! There is a lot of ups and downs that come along with hunting these type of Whitetails and Chase goes over them. From seeing distance of big city Atlanta Chris is often sitting 20 foot up trying to out smart these adaptive and smart city bucks that are a lot smarter than a lot of people think. On this episode Gavin and Jon talk with Matt Tagget, one of the founders of REK Breoadheads “The Final Cut”. We talk about how the Michigan USA made company got its start and the ins and outs of what they’re doing different compared to other broadhead companies in the industry. On this episode team member Jon Landwehr joins me to talk about the 1st 200+ inch buck he shot in 2020 “Titan”. Jon had at least two years of history with this buck and from getting the first trail camera picture of this buck, to Jon wrapping his hands around this mature Kansas GIANT of a whitetail, we cover it all in this episode and much more!! Jon learned from this buck that cellular trail cameras are the ultimate game changer to figuring out mature bucks, staying off a property more often to make them feel more comfortable, and also killing them with the data you gather. Alex grew up in a die hard whitetail hunting family and by the time he was 12 and able to hunt he was already a die hard himself, killing a great buck his first year. We dive into E-Scouting public land and the features and things Alex keys in on to cross paths with these public land mature bucks. We talk about trail cameras, the importance of hunting scrapes, mobile hunting, playing thermals. Alex might be young but is full of knowledge and the skill to kill big mature bucks each and every year. It does matter if it’s big woods Whitetails or farm country, Alex gets on these bucks and puts them down. On this episode I’m Joined by Jimmy, Tyler, and Ryan from Drawback Outdoors!! They’ve grown up in Pennsylvania hunting some of the most pressured whitetails in the entire country. We talk everything from killing a state record black bear, chasing early season velvet bucks in Tennessee, dealing with crazy public land hunters in PA, all the way to killing a 153” Iowa monster buck!! These guys know as well as anyone that hunting public land is some of the most challenging whitetail hunting there is but once it all comes together there is nothing more rewarding.
