On this episode I’m joined by Austin Stone who is no stranger to hunting public land whitetails. Last year in 2021 Austin did the unthinkable and shot three beautiful Public Land bucks in three different states. One of his favorite tactics for getting on mature bucks is hunting scrapes and he used that tactic to get one these bucks he shot this year. Another important tactic Austin has for hunting public land is being smart and sneaky with his access routes, he’s become very fond of sneaking in on these bucks using a canoeing and hauling them out with it afterwords!! This episode is a first for our podcast, I’m riding solo and talking about my high hunting pressure propriety thats only 26 acres with neighbors legit hunting on all sides, with neighboring houses on 3 parts of the property. I talk about how this property has changed throughout the 10 years of us owning it and all changes we’ve been making. It started off as a hay field and now it’s very thick with all types of native trees growing including Native American Persimmon trees that are growing all over the property and now starting to grow a good crop of some of deer favorite food they possibly desire. I also talk about some of the different tactics and tricks I use to help use the land and even neighbors hunting pressure in my advantage and after years of trying different things I’m starting to get this property completely dialed in!! John has been getting after giant mature Kansas Whitetails for years and has two bucks over 200 inches and he’s going for his 3rd this season. Jon talks about a crazy spot and stalk story where he was using a heads up decoy and brought a GIANT into 3 yards and I could only imagine the adrenaline rush that came with that. Gavin is joined on this episode with some of the Whitetail Bloodline guys Dylan and Cory. We’re all heading to Kentucky for our first out of state turkey season!! Gavin and Dylan will be starting off the weekend on a two new private pieces they just got permission on over the past week, no prior knowledge about the property but the home owners say there are turkeys on it all the time so we’re fired up to get after them!! Cory will be hitting a different part of Kentucky on public land, Cory has done his fair share of scouting the past few weeks and is ready to get after his first public land turkeys!!!

On this episode it’s more of a turkey hunting BS session with Angelo Giannoni who’s from Illinois!! As usual we get off topic taking about other things but there’s still plenty of good information to get you fired of for this turkey season and I bet there’s a couple things you’ll hear that you never would’ve thought about because I know Angelo definitely made me think about trying some of his turkey hunting tactics that would’ve never crossed my mind!! Always a great time talking with Angelo and we’re both looking forward to getting in the turkey woods this weekend!!
