WHL This Week, Radio Edition - Hears from Canadian Hockey League President Dan MacKenzie.  He'll discuss operating through the pandemic the past two seasons and what could be in store for the Memorial Cup.  

The WHL has named it's Players of the Month for February. We'll have a recap of two top performers - Connor Bedard of the Regina Pats and G Carl Tetachuk of the Moose Jaw Warriors. 

The Spokane Chiefs underwent a coaching change three weeks ago.  Ryan Smith has been named the Interim Coach as he looks to lead the team into a playoff spot. He'll be our guest.

Finally, Moose Jaw Warriors F Jagger Firkus is having a great season.  He was ranked 33rd by NHL Central Scouting in the Mid-Term Rankings.  He's headed to the 2022 Kubota CHL / NHL Top Prospects Game in Kitchener. He'll close out our show.

A special night in Kamloops this weekend.  The team will honour Kyrell Sopotyk who was left paralyzed after snowboarding accident in January of 2021.  He will be the guest of honour at the Sandman Centre Friday night. 

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, checks in with Regina Pats 16 year-old Connor Bedard after a goal he scored this past week was the talk of the hockey world.  He's also the WHL Player of the Week as the Pats push for a playoff spot.

The WHL mourns the loss of Brad Hournung. We'll have more on the legacy he leaves.

The Kelowna Rockets are right in the mix in the Western Conference after a recent eight-game winning streak.  We'll hear how they've been getting it done with Rockets Coach Kris Mallette.

Tri-City Americans F Parker Bell joins us.  He's ranked 93rd by NHL Central Scouting in the mid-term rankings.  We'll have more on his season with the Americans, the NHL Draft and pushing for the playoffs.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, pays tribute to one of it's own - Les Lazaruk of the Saskatoon Blades.  The veteran broadcaster called his 2000th game this week.  Les will begin our show.

WHL Alumnus Shane Doan is now leading Canada into the Beijing Olympics as the General Manager of the Men's Hockey Team.  The co-owner of the Kamloops Blazers has one eye on gold, and another on the Blazers in Kamloops.

The Swift Current Broncos have removed the interim tag from General Manager Chad Leslie.  We'll update the Broncos situation.

Finally, Logan Stankoven put up 24 points in the month of January including 13 in the final week to be named both the WHL Player of the Week and WHL McSweeney's Player of the Month.  We'll talk to the Dallas Stars prospect about what's motivating him. 

WHL This Week - Radio Edition takes a look at the Vancouver Giants post-trade deadline with Head Coach Michael Dyck.  The Giants made two significant moves as they sent F Justin Sourdif to Edmonton and D Tanner Brown to Winnipeg. Dyck talks about their focus in the 2nd half.

Winnipeg ICE goaltender Daniel Hauser has set a new CHL record for games started in a career without a regulation loss. We'll hear from the 'tender and ICE Head Coach James Patrick.

Saskatoon Blades F and San Jose Sharks prospect Tristen Robins has been named the WHL Player of the Week after recording seven points in two games.  He's featured in conversation with Les Lazaruk as the Blades await a resumption of activities. 

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, breaks down the WHL Trade Deadline that passed on Monday. Nine moves in total including a blockbuster between Vancouver and Edmonton.  We'll hear from Justin Souridf after the deal which saw him jump to the Oil Kings. We'll also recap some of the other significant moves.

WHL Referee Michael Campbell is headed to Beijing for the Winter Olympics next month.  He's been selected as a referee for the Olympic Men's Tournament.  The 11 year WHL official will join us to talk about the amazing opportunity.

Finally, Lethbride Hurricanes F Justin Hall posted back-to-back hat-tricks last week to pick up WHL Player of the Week honours.  He'll close out this week's show.

53 WHL players have been named to the NHL's Central Scouting Mid-Term Rankings.  We will take a look at what players cracked the list and what WHL teams are represented.

The Portland Winterhawks recently had a snowy trip to BC to play the only game on the WHL schedule this past weekend.  Portland GM/Head Coach Mike Johnston takes us through a snowy trip, Covid-19 and the upcoming WHL Trade Deadline on Monday.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, features Edmonton Oil Kings General Manager Kirt Hill.  It's been a challenging time for GM's across the league with constant schedule adjustments due to Covid-19 and weather related postponements.  Hill has made a couple of major roster moves and is all-in on a run at the Ed Chynoweth Cup. 

"The Battle of the Sound" is coming to Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena. It's a game between the rival Seattle Thunderbirds and the Everett Silvertips.  Silvertips COO Zoran Rajcic is happy to be part of it all as the visiting team.  He'll talk more about the February game in the home rink of the NHL's Seattle Kraken.

Is their anyone hotter in the WHL right now than Victoria Royals winger Bailey Peach? He's the WHL Player of the Week and McSweeney's Player of the Month.  December included a franchise record seven-point game.  Peach will be our guest to wrap up the show. 

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, put's a wrap on the 2022 IIHF World Junior Tournament following it's cancellation in Edmonton and Red Deer due to Covid-19. Several WHL players were representing their countries including 12 on Team Canada.  Goaltender Dylan Garand talks about the disappointment but also why he's holding out hope.

The WHL Trade Deadline is just over two weeks away, but already some major moves.  We'll get the reaction from Prince George Cougars HC/GM Mark Lamb on a trade that sent 20 year-old G Taylor Gauthier to the Portland Winterhawks.

Former Everett Silvertips G Dustin Wolf has been called up by the NHL's Calgary Flames.  The fourth last pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft (214th overall) continues to defy the odds.  He explains why it was a special and timely call-up.
