WHL This Week - Radio Edition, updates the 2022 WHL Playoffs with the Edmonton Oil Kings the first to advance to the WHL's Conference Finals.  Here from Coach Brad Lauer and forwards Dylan Guenther & Carter Souch.

The WHL hosts both it's US Prospects Draft and the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft next week for players born in 2007.  WHL Manager of Hockey Operations Taylor Green will preview both events and give us some names to watch for draft day.

Matt Bardsley is back in the WHL. The former Director of Player Personnel in Portland and General Manager in Kamloops has been named the new General Manager of the Spokane Chiefs. He'll be our guest. 

WHL This Week - Radio Edition - recaps the opening round of the WHL Playoffs and looks ahead.  We will look at a historic playoff upset for the Vancouver Giants.

The Moose Jaw Warriors moved on with a five-game series victory over the Saskatoon Blades and now prepare to play the #1 seed Winnipeg ICE. Warriors F Ryder Korzack will be our guest.

What a season for Red Deer Rebels F Arshdeep Bains.  He won the WHL's Bobby Clarke as the league's leading scorer, signed an NHL Entry Level Contract with the Vancouver Canucks as an undrafted free-agent and now prepares to lead his team into the second round of the playoffs.  Bains will talk about all that and more this week.

Finally, for the second time this season, Kamloops Blazers F Logan Stankoven has been named the McSweeney's WHL Player of the Month after putting up 26 points in just 10 games.  He'll wrap up the show. 

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, updates the 2022 WHL Playoffs with the opening round continuing into a second weekend.  We will take a look at the Saskatoon Blades who forced a game five in Moose Jaw.

Luke Toporowski is enjoying a strong start to the playoffs with the Kamloops Blazers.  The former Spokane Chief sits tied in playoff goals and has his team on the verge of advancing to round two. We'll talk to him about going back to Spokane.

The Portland Winterhawks were the first team to advance to round two.  After finishing up a series sweep in Prince George, we will hear from G Taylor Gauthier and F Gabe Klassen.

Finally, the Medicine Hat Tigers won the WHL Prospects Draft Lottery last week.  They will select first overall next month in the WHL Prospects Draft.  Tigers Director of Player Personnel Bobby Fox will join us to discuss the first overall pick, and a big draft for the Tigers.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition recaps a final regular season game for Regina Pats 16 year-old Connor Bedard in which he hit both the 50 goal and 100 point milestone.  He made an appearance on TSN's That's Hockey following the conclusion of his regular season.

WHL Commisioner Ron Robison is our guest to kick off the 2022 WHL Playoffs. After a challenging regular season, the WHL is set to host playoff hockey for the first time since May of 2019.

The WHL hosted it's Draft Lottery for next month's WHL Prospects Draft. We'll recap the draft order and take a look at the award finalists for June 1st.

Regina Pats captain Logan Nijhoff has been named the winner of the Dana Brons Honourary Award for his work with Hockey Gives Blood.  Program Co-founder Stu Middleton will tell us why Logan was a fitting winner of the annual award.  

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, has one final show before the 2022 WHL Playoffs.  We take a closer look at the remaining playoff races in the Eastern and Western Conference. Four playoff spots remain up for grabs while only two of the eight first round playoff series are set.  Meanwhile the WHL scoring race for the Bob Clarke Trophy appears to be all but decided headed into the final weekend.

There is a new WHL all-time leader in goaltender wins. Saskatoon Blades G Nolan Maier has set the new mark with 121 career wins.  We will take you back to the night he set the new mark and hear from the veteran WHL goaltender.

Finally, Kelowna Rockets F Colton Dach is beginning to heat up ahead of the 2022 WHL Playoffs.  The 2nd round prospect of the Chicago Blackhawks will join us to wrap up the show. 

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, takes a closer look at the playoff races in both the Eastern and Western Conference.  The Swift Current Broncos sit in the 8th and final spot in the East, but with only two games remaining, they will need to win both.  Broncos Head Coach Devan Praught will join us.  He talks about his team's goal of making the playoffs and his road to the WHL from PEI.

Legendary Medicine Hat Tigers broadcaster Bob Ridley was honoured this past weekend.  He is planning a return to the booth. We will recap the special ceremony held before the Tigers and Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Finally, Kamloops Blazers F Logan Stankoven is coming off a nine point week to be named the WHL Player of the Week. No player in the WHL has more points in 2022.  He will be our guest to close out the show. 

WHL This Week - Radio Edition talks USPORTS hockey with 55 WHL Alumni taking part in this weekend's National Championship Tournament.  Former Tri-City American (2015-2019) Nolan Yaremko has been named the USPORTS Most Outstanding Player for this past season.  He's now at Mt. Royal University in Calgary and will be our guest to discuss life after the WHL.

Call them the WHL's Super 16's. A six-pack of 2005-born players are putting up numbers not seen in nearly 40 years in the WHL as a collective group. We will hear from Kelowna Rockets F Andrew Cristall.

Finally, Seattle Thunderbirds F Lukas Svejkovsky has been named the WHL's Player of the Week for his five goals, and three assists in a trio of Thunderbirds wins.  He'll close out our show.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, recaps the 2022 Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Kitchener, ON this week.  It was a standout performance from Moose Jaw Warriors F Jagger Firkus.  We will hear from him and take a look at how the WHL players performed in the game and in off-ice testing.

The Winnipeg ICE are on a roll as they head into another weekend.  Riding a long winning streak, they are doing it with depth and defensive play.  ICE Head Coach James Patrick will join us.

Everett Silvertips D Olen Zellweger - a 2nd round pick of the NHL's Anaheim Ducks - is the WHL Player of the Week.  He's leading all WHL defensemen in scoring entering a new weekend.  He'll be our guest to wrap up the show. 

The WHL will send three goaltenders to next week's 2022 Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game in Kitchener, ON.  Prince George Cougars G Tyler Brennan heads to the game as the number one ranked goaltnder according to NHL Central Scouting.  He'll be our guest.

Moose Jaw Warriors 16 year-old Brayden Yager has set a new franchise record. The old mark stood for nearly 40 years.  He's scored the most goals for a 16 year-old in franchise history.  He'll talk about his season so far.

Red Deer Rebels F Ben King is on pace to score 50 goals this season.  After seven points in two games, he's been named the WHL Player of the Week.  He'll close out our show.
