I remember taking many photos of my kids when they were younger. I also remember trying to capture that special moment, but the images were never quite as good as I’d hope. Often the lighting was terrible, the photo was washed out, or it just didn’t represent the special moment I was trying to capture.

AndroidRSSAs much as I love looking at photos of my kids, I wish I had known more about how to capture that special moment. Kids grow up so quickly and we want to preserve those special moments with them, for years to come.
So today I’ve invited my guest Jody Mack to join my conversation. Some of you might remember Jody was one of my earlier shows on Wholehearted Parenting. During our conversation, Jody shared her story about following her inner voice as she made a major career change from adjunct biology professor to professional photographer, in order to follow her passion and be there for her family.
Like many parents, her children became her favorite subject. As Jody grew in knowledge and experience with digital photography, she learned to make the most of available light. She uses a photojournalistic approach to her subjects. I believe Jody has a gift for capturing the essence of the children and families that she works with.
Jody’s photography business is taking off and she is still striving, as all parents do, to have a better work/life balance…to be present, both physically and mentally for her 3 young daughters.
