I know I was frustrated at times by my own children’s behavior…and I was even more frustrated when my disciplinary techniques were not working! Afterall, as a pediatric nurse practitioner and child therapist, I certainly viewed myself as an “expert” and felt very comfortable offering parents behavioral strategies! Currently in my own private practice, parents often share their own frustrations about their child’s behavior…their child won’t listen to them, won’t do their homework, or they’re constantly fighting with their sibling.
