Why are some ski teachers not worth the money you have to pay?

And are some ski teachers a waste of money?  When you walk into a ski school and ask to book a ski teacher most of the time they will give you who every is available from their list of ski teachers. This is almost a potluck who you get and whether they are going to be a good match for you. There are many great ski teacher out there and you can find many of them via reviews on websites and Facebook groups. Look around and find one in the resort you want to visit and drop them an email. Ask questions and see if you like the sound of the teacher. Or tell the ski school what you want from your lessons and ask to talk to their ski teacher before you pay for your lesson/s.
