Why i don't use vibrate mode on the remote collar.

first if you use it, that does not make it right or wrong, but lots of folks have told me and also from my experience as well, that it freaks out the dogs, agreed, it can be actually too much for a dog and confusing. It also does not fit into our pressure on and off theory of dog training.

So it boils down to just more than personal choice for me, it is also about the versatility of the collar and what the stim function can do for your teaching program.
