Reason #28 everyone is staring at us: We never really hit our goals for this show, so we're shutting down for now. Before we do, we discuss one of O'Dell's favorite tear-jerkers from the 80s: Terms of Endearment. It always brings all the feels. Going back to the "we're shutting down" announcement: We're not going away completely. We'll be back every summer with a new show titled, "Suddenly, Last Summer" which will bring with it several themes from this show, but in a more focused way. Reason #27 everyone is staring at us: We miss communicating through letters, passed notes and the amazing mixed tape. Playlists just aren't the same. Reason #26 everyone is staring at us: Sometimes we don't agree with the masses. There's no doubt that Stand By Me is an amazing movie. Many also say The Outsiders is also amazing... we disagree. Despite the awesome cast, and sexiness of Matt Dillon, we feel that it was not nearly as good as Stand By Me. Reason #25 everyone is staring at us: we try and figure out a way we could survive the world of The Handmaid's Tale.

Honestly, it doesn't look good for us - especially O'Dell - but with a little tweaking we think we might be able to pull it off... until we can't.

Reason #24 everyone is staring at us: We forgot to do much remixing of books 7 & 8 this time around. Aside from discovering Mr. Collins' secret phrase that makes Elizabeth switch into a serial killer, we pretty much just stick to laughing at the plots. I blame Jessica's extra sociopathic ways for distracting us. We'll do better next time.

Reason #23 everyone is staring at us: We (mostly Erin) have some very strong feelings as to what makes a boy band. O'Dell does a really good job of continuously changing the course of the conversation, which leads us to talk about the show "Soundtrack", lip sync battles, and then circle back to Girl Groups. This leads to a discussion of why is it a Boy Band (when the boys don't play instruments) and a Girl Band when the girls do play, but a girl group when they only sing and dance? These are the conversations that will undoubtedly bring about world peace.

Reason #22 everyone is staring at us: Because at first, when there's nothin, we'll always be here with an 80's movie to fill in the blanks. Today we revisit Flashdance, and we finally realize that there isn't a whole lot of substance to this movie and the only character we really cared about was Alex (Jennifer Beals). This one is at the top of our "It would be awesome of they remade this (still set in the 80s), removed the central, creepy love story, and focused more on Jeanie and Alex's dreams and ambitions" list. Maybe it'll happen?

Reason #21 everyone is staring at us: Because we have a special bond over theatre (we even spell it the fancy way) that goes back to our childhood. While Erin is much more experienced and seasoned than O'Dell, they still have some great memories of shows they've done - especially the community theatre productions that they did together. Reason #20 everyone is staring at us: We are still convinced that the reason the timelines in Sweet Valley High are so messed up is because at some point Elizabeth snapped and killed everyone and now she is telling her version of the story to a psychiatrist. Fractured timelines for fractured minds, yo!

On this episode we cover book 5 - the pointless "All Night Long", and 6 - the oh-so-dramatic "Dangerous Love". Along the way we figure out why Mr. Collins is always around: He's priming Elizabeth for her serial killer days a la Dexter's dad. We're sure of it!
