Reason #8 people are staring at us: We suddenly had an epiphany. We used to think that everyone was staring at us because we acted like weirdos. After finding some of our old blog posts and emails, we realized that this phrase doesn't apply to a single instance in our lives - it's been a constant theme. From feeling insecure in high school and wondering why everyone was staring at us, to being delusional (and slightly annoying) 20-somethings, the fact remains: We are staring at (and judging) ourselves even more harshly than anyone else.

Today, we come to the realization that life is never easy, no matter what age you are. It's never as perfect as we think it should be, and even though we grew up thinking that one day we'd have all the answers, we now know that isn't possible. Even our parents - who we grew up thinking had all of life's answers - were just winging it and hoping for the best. We can only try and do the same.

We don't hold back much on this show, and today even less so when we take a look at bad dates and hook-ups that should have been great, but went south quickly (and not in THAT way.) Reason #5 that everyone is staring at us: We grew up without social media and being constantly connected, so when sites like Live Journal, Friendster, MySpace and eventually Facebook came along when we were in our 20's, they were game changers. These new modes of connection brought with them amazing new ways for us to connect with our friends across the globe.

On this episode, we reflect on some of the stupid things we did when social media first came about, and take a look at how it currently plays a part in how we communicate and interact with others in our day to day lives - both in good and bad ways.

Yes, SVH with its uber-white characters, shallow and clueless leads, and sometimes laughable plot lines. We spend the entire episode reminiscing, laughing, and discussing how the twins were sociopaths in their own way and also a little bit psycho. Why is Everyone Staring at Us? is a new podcast launching February 22, 2021. The show is geared mostly toward the Gen-X crowd, but all are welcome. Come and take a walk down memory lane with us as we reflect on growing up completely oblivious in the 80's and 90's, and the impacts that some of our decisions have had on our adult lives. Every show launches with a question and where it goes from there is anyone's guess.

The show launches on Monday, February 22, 2021 with a new episode on Thursday, February 25, and new episodes every Thursday after that.
