A wedding dress is one of the most personal decisions a bride will make, and the brand she chooses says a lot about how she wants to feel on the day. In this episode, we sit down with Megan Ziems, the founder of Grace Loves Lace, and Cara Drake, the brand's Deputy Head Designer, to talk about how one of the most recognised bridal labels in the world has spent the last sixteen years quietly redefining what modern bridal looks like.
Megan started Grace Loves Lace from her house in 2010. Today, the brand sits across twenty-three boutiques worldwide, with one of the most distinctive design signatures in global bridal. In this conversation, we walk through the founding story, the philosophy that has anchored the brand from day one (recognition, not transformation), and the unusually rigorous design and production process behind every gown, from up to ninety days of hand-embroidered lace through to sample testing on body across the full size range.
We also cover the experience of the modern bride, the overwhelm of looking through over 800 dresses before making a decision, why fit matters at every size, what sustainability actually looks like within a bridal brand, and the design thinking behind Grace Loves Lace's most recognised gowns.
