Many people have heard of Sharon Zook, but likely not as a political candidate.  Although she previously ran unsuccessfully for County Commissioner, Zook is better known as a community activist.  Still, she says she's ready to deal with some of the issues bringing the City down, such as nuisance businesses and slumlords.

Are & Be Cafe owner Damian Vargas wants to be Mayor of the City of Lebanon.  The young entrepreneur says he's willing to work his tail off to learn the ropes of all the duties a mayor has.  His goal is to lift up Lebanon's people and be a true servant-leader.  He's running on the Republican ballot in the May 20, 2025 Primary election.

The Talk of the Town Newsmaker Interview of March 7, 2025 featured Pier Hess Graf, who is seeking the GOP nomination in her reelection bid for a second term as Lebanon County District Attorney.  She was appointed to the role after former DA Dave Arnold was elected to the PA Senate in 2020, then won election outright in November, 2021, with her swearing-in as the elected DA in January, 2022.   

Graf discusses her reasons for becoming a prosecutor, her track record while at the helm of the office, and why she wants another term as Lebanon County's chief law enforcement official.

The Commonwealth Beat with Laura LeBeau is a statewide Public Affairs program airing on all Seven Mountains Media Pennsylvania radio stations.     

This spring, the Democrats and Republicans running for their party's nomination for the Office of Pennsylvania Attorney General were profiled.  There were five Democrats and two Republicans.  From that field, voters elected Eugene DePasquale as the Democratic Party nominee, while Republicans elected Dave Sunday.  Fast forward four quick months, and the pair is embroiled in a contentious race in which the central focus is whether the Attorney General needs to have courtroom experience as a prosecutor.  Dave Sunday has it as the elected District Attorney of York County, but Eugene DePasquale does not.  He relies most heavily on his two-terms as a former PA Auditor General, leading complex state investigations.  On this edition of The Commonwealth Beat with Laura LeBeau, conversations with both men about their experience and desire to become Pennsylvania's next Attorney General.
