The 99.7 WiLBuR Radio & LebTown Candidates Night Forum featuring the Republican candidates seeking the GOP nomination in the May 19th Primary Election DID NOT DISAPPOINT!  Incumbent Senator Chris Gebhard, Challenger Clovis Crane (both on the Republican ballot) and write-in candidate William Carroll answered questions and debated many of the issues confronting the 48th District in this 1-hour forum, moderated by Seven Mountains Media News Director Laura LeBeau and LebTown Reporter James Mentzer.  The forum drew close to 100 people to Lebanon City Hall on Tuesday, April 28th from 7 to 8PM.

The legendary singer/songwriter Al Shade passed away on January 22, 2026 at age 98.  He was the longest, continuous-performing Country & Western singer in the U.S. and was a legend in Central Pennsylvania, where he reigned supreme for decades, playing thousands of shows, Firemen Carnivals, the Lebanon Area Fair and many other venues.  For years, his performances were alongside his wife of 52 years, Jean Romaine Shade, who died in 2017.  Al is best known for his theme song, "I'm a Star on WLBR," but he had many other hits, too, including "Potter County was made by the Hand of God, but the Devil made Three Mile Island." Rest in Peace, Al.

The United Way of Lebanon County has lost its two office staffers within the past week.  Last Friday, Community Development Director Deborah Hornick posted on social media that she had been let go.  Then Tuesday, Executive Director Erin Velasquez posted that she had tendered her resignation, citing "leadership culture and the overall work environment" were not the right fit for her.  So what's the story.  Laura LeBeau spoke with United Way Board President Rick Scott, for clarity on these departures.
