Last summer’s wildfires devastated communities all over Oregon. In the Rogue Valley, hundreds of people lost their homes and are still unable to find housing in the towns they had to leave. The challenges are both personal and collective, as communities also struggle with how to rebuild public buildings and recover economically, as tourist season begins. We talk with Jocksana Corona who lost her family home in Talent and now lives in Central Point, 15 miles away. And John Carlile shares how his Lane County community of McKenzie Bridge and others along Hwy 126 are trying to recover, even as this year’s fire season begins.
