"Digital did not ruin filmmaking. Digital gave us the Duplass brothers. Digital democratized it and then people were like, 'Oh well, it's not digital that's going to ruin it, it's this thing called YouTube that's going to ruin it.' And in fact YouTube is incredibly entertaining and good stuff percolates up all the time. And I would just say, sadly every new technology turn has been met with the same argument of it's going to ruin X, and yet it hasn't."
