New parameters approved Feb. 2 by the Floresville Independent School District (ISD) board of trustees mean that a strictly four-day school calendar is off the table for 2026-27. These parameters guide the calendar development by the administration and the calendar committee to create sample calendars which include 165 student days, 470 minutes per day, and to end the school year by May 27, 2027. An arrest has been made relating to the death of 64-year-old Gilbert Parker of China Grove. Abigail Molina, 32, was arrested Feb. 5 and charged with murder, theft, and tampering with evidence. Parker was found Jan. 18 in a structure where he lived on the grounds of Old Path Baptist Church, in the 3300 block of U.S. 87 E. in China Grove, after Bexar County Emergency Services District 9 and China Grove police responded to a report of a medical emergency. Jones High School. Wilson County Auditor Brenda Treviño and Pct. 3 Commissioner Jeffery Pierdolla have been denied further motions related to their alleged offenses.
