The Will Smith slapping Chris rock incident got a lot of people talking and all too often not in a principled way. We discussed this in the Facebook group first and here are my thoughts on the matter.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Lawrence A. Kane on his new book written with Kris Wilder: "Martial Arts and Your Life: The Story of Us: A Survey of What We Do and Why" Available here: https://amzn.to/3IUZGfs it turned into a fascinating conversation on martial artists and self-defense practitioners and teachers. Who we are, what we do and why? Full disclosure: I filled in the survey for this book too. The bonus podcast episode is available here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/64523958/

A while ago we talked about the kinds of weirdos you encounter when you practice martial arts and self-defense. I have my own stories, but there are tons more and so many practitioners experience similar things. So in this episode, I share some of these tales. Violence never looks good in real life. People with little experience and knowledge of what violence is like in the real world often find it disturbing. In this episode, I look a bit closer at all this and give a tip on how to reframe this with a specific question for those folks. The links mentioned in this episode: https://wimsblog.com/79
It was my absolute pleasure and honor to interview Mark Dacascos. An incredible martial artist and actor, a wonderful human being, and just an all-around awesome guy. We talked about growing up with his famous parents, his beginnings as an actor, fight scenes, but also many of his movies: Only the Strong, Drive, Brotherhood of the Wolf and of course John Wick 3. Mark also talks about his upcoming projects, soon to be released.

A while ago we discussed potential guests for the show and I came across a potential one. I ended up not inviting him on because of certain things he said. I dig deeper into this in this episode here.

I had a great time interviewing Hock Hochheim and he was very generous with both his time and the answers to my questions. Hock obviously has loads of experience and knowledge and we managed to cover a lot of ground on a variety of topics. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did talking to him!
