You always want to be a preacher.

You talked about what students need to have or must be

Perseverance, Growth-Mindset, and Responsibility

Yet, have ever asked what you need to have or must be

for your students and your self-integrity.

I know you are frustrated.

When students don't show their faces

I know you are tired.

When using new technology get you backfired.

I know what you're thinking.

I'm too tired to learn anything new.

I'm too exhausted to try anything new.

I just don't have the time.

It's too late;

I don't want it on my busy plate.

"Well, it's not just me,"

you said.

It's also my students too.

I don't to learn new strategies,

or implement new technology

because of my empathy

for my students' overloaded capacity.

Yet, you continue to ask

Students need to have or must be.

Perseverance, Growth-mindset, and Responsibility.

If you already determined it is over,

You're already set the limit.

You are already put an end.

Why do you want more?

Why do you ask for more?

As educators during this challenging time.

It's more even important than just to be a preacher;

You must be a doer.

You must be a demonstrator.

You have to have what we want our students to have.

You must be to be what we want our students to be.

So, the next time you ask your students:

I want you all to have and must be

Perseverance, Growth-Mindset, and Responsibility.

Don't ask.

Don't be afraid to try new strategies

Don't give up in learn new technology.

Don't worry about some students' resistance.

Just do it.

Do you what you ask your students have or must be.

Perseverance, Growth-mindset, and responsibility.

Don't set a limit for yourself;

Don't determine the limit of all students because a few.

Just do it.

Education is not about pretending to be perfect.

Teaching is not about setting limitations

of what your students can do

because of what you cannot do.

As an observer, we are subconsciously influenced by biases based on our interpretation from studies we read or experiences. Perhaps, the fragmented and subjective process of evaluating teachers or teaching shadow the teaching profession with doubt, fear, and misunderstanding. In this episode of Edu-Oppression, we share with you our method of evluation based on evidence beyond our observations. Our analysis looks at quantitative and measurable data of students’ learning outcomes, including students’ works, scores from informal and formal assessments, and students’ anonymous feedback, and students’ social and emotional development.

Unlike the teachers’ evaluation method based on a few short random or scheduled observations, our data is based on our daily observation and interaction with our students. This allows us to capture the continuous learning progress and outcomes that no researcher or administrator can do.

Our method of evaluation focuses on removing our subjective observation with comprehensive evidence.

John Hattie claims that "the most powerful single modification that enhances achievement is feedback" This is based on his study of 1400 meta-analyses. To sum it up, the best teaching strategies focus on empowering classroom educators to provide personalized and student-centered learning that builds on students' prior knowledge and provide individualized and multi-tiered levels of interventions and supports based on evidence and data. For many new teachers, we came into the teaching profession with many exciting and innovative ideas. However, how many of you, including veteran teachers, dare to test out your innovative ideas. In this episode, we share Amy's story as she took the risk to redefine her teach as a new teacher.

In this episode of Edu-Oppression, we talked about our journey to redefine our teaching to provide learning equity that focuses on evidence-based teaching and a multi-tiered system of support. Using today's technology, we redefine our teaching to be student-centered while the teachers are facilitators of learners.
