Starting something new in 2022 - welcome to the Weekly WIN Series (name pending).

The purpose of this series is to add value to you all in a quick way each week, ten minutes or less guaranteed!

One book that made a big impact on me in 2021 is Who Not How by Dan Sullivan.

When you ask yourself "How" you're going to accomplish something, you then begin thinking about all of the actions that will follow and how you may have to do everything. That can be stressful at times.

Rather than always thinking about HOW to do something, think about WHO can help you accomplish that thing. For every goal that you write down, WHO can help you get there?

With all of my goals and big objectives moving forward, I'm certainly going to be asking WHO is going to help me get there and alleviate unnecessary stress.

The path to success is rarely linear. Some of the greatest people and organizations that we know today came about as a result of overcoming failures and various other obstacles. Meet Dante DiBattista, a shining example of this. After failing out of his first year of college he had a wake-up call to become serious about tapping into his potential. He decided to become serious about his life and returned to college, this time as a Psychology major where he discovered his love for human science.

Dante provides insight on how we may better understand ourselves as humans so that we may become more self aware and optimize our lifestyles. He breaks down complex human science topics into easily understandable information so that you may incorporate his tips into your life. Further, he details the actual science behind goal setting which is very interesting. Yes, there's even a science element to #goals!

Welcome to Season 2 of the podcast and 2022! At the start of a new year many things cross our minds such as goals, how we want to make an impact, and how we want to improve based off lessons learned the prior year. One important topic that is daunting to many but very important to focus on especially during a new year; money.

Hassan Thomas is the Founder of the FYI FLI app (For Your Information, Financial Literacy Information). He discovered an opportunity to scale financial literacy resources during his senior year of college after being sidelined from his football career where he then doubled down on converting his senior thesis project into a financial literacy empire.

Hassan is passionate about creating resources that help people bolster financial literacy and build healthy relationships with money. Especially for individuals and populations that have been systemically, categorically, and historically underrepresented and denied the intel, access, and tools needed to produce generational wealth.

Episode #21 exposes us to another big heart in this world; meet Sydney Ford. Sydney is currently a Juvenile Defense Attorney, Author, Founder of Hope After Grief, and a candidate for Miss South Carolina. She wears quite a few hats, all with grace and with a mission to make the world a better place.

Sydney is passionate about working with the youth and teaching them how to deal with grief. She's passionate about this because she has dealt with grief first hand after losing her Father at 10 years old. Sydney struggled with the situation in the years that followed and founded her Non-Profit to help youth in similar situations to be able to cope. One step further, she wrote a book, Grief Came To Visit Today, so that our youth would have another resource to deal with grief.

Sydney strives to spread her grief resources to as many educators and students as possible and even created a scholarship fund specifically for students who have lost a parent, guardian, or sibling.

Episode #20 unveils the secret sauce behind accomplishing goals. Focusing on systems and habits! When you truly break goals down, they're accomplished by the systems that you have in place. What forms systems? Habits.

James Clear's book, Atomic Habits, created a profound impact on my goal setting journey as it explains that systems is really where you make the money versus goals. I couldn't agree more as I've learned to truly focus on systems and habits around each goal that I write down.

I break down how to focus on building a system through my favorite exercise, habit stacking. Building new habits on top of existing habits is the easiest way to build, strengthen, and refine your system to accomplish goals. From here, I discuss how to maintain your system.

As noted in the book, "You do not rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems."

With each goal that you write down, ask yourself this, "Do I have the system and habits in place to accomplish this goal?"

As we approach a new year, it's imperative to focus on these things.

Episode #19 details Hilary Johnson's journey from a highly lucrative corporate career to becoming an entrepreneur where she created Hatch Tribe. When Hilary left the corporate world and started her own business, she struggled as many entrepreneurs do in the early stages. Undeterred through struggle, she noticed that one piece of the puzzle was missing during her early entrepreneur days. A community of fellow women entrepreneurs who could learn and grow from each other, share struggles, and build greater businesses. 

What did Hilary do from there? She created the community. Enter Hatch Tribe!

Episode #18 emphasizes the fact that you truly can create your own path in this life as Chris Chapman has proven. A 25 year old podcast host, travel app co-founder, and someone who interviews 250+ CEOs per year, he has the hustle figured out. Chris became extremely intentional about his success after one of his high school guidance counselors informed him that he had nearly zero chance of getting into a four year university based off his High School performance and then boom! He erupted. 

In this episode, he details the steps that he took after that conversation in High School which led him to become extremely focused on goals, surrounding himself with the right people, and constantly learning. Further, we discuss his business ambitions and how he is constantly striving to reach the next level. His advice is very practical and he offers tips that all of us may benefit from! 

Chris is a servant leader and often studies leadership in addition to giving back in the community, something that you can learn about in the Next Level Minds podcast! My favorite take away from Chris in this episode, "everybody should leave a conversation with you feeling like they just had the best day." Be good to people, be intentional, and do great.

Episode #17 teaches us that you can start a business with your friend and still be successful, contrary to what many business articles may tell you. Enter Allora Solutions Group! Kat and Ashleigh have a fun story as they both worked together in the corporate world where they both realized that they possessed the ability to do something on their own and serve businesses.

Through countless late night sessions coupled with several discussions over tacos and pizza, they developed the framework for what is known as Allora today. Their journey began by writing things down, identifying their core values and how they would operate their future business. Fast forward, they now serve several businesses in the Charleston area focused on people, processes, and performance.

Ashleigh and Kat attribute their success working together to a simple quality: communication. Allora is growing rapidly due to their vision, confidence, abiding to their values that they set on day one, and because they consistently communicate with each other. I love the fact that their success boils down to simplicity. The journey will always require hard work and there will be obstacles, but it doesn't always have to be complex!

Episode #16 reveals the deeper reason behind why I do what I do. This year has been one for the books in terms of personal growth and development, and vulnerability has been a big focus that has pushed me out of my comfort zone a bit. 

The big driver behind why I do what I do is because I'm putting an end to a generational curse, one thing that many of you do not know about me. What many of you knew is that I was not very focused growing up, hence why I began setting goals 10 years ago in order for the vision in my head of becoming a successful leader one day to become a reality. There was another vision in my head, though. Having a tightly connected family and ending the systemic trend of alcoholism, adultery, plus mental and emotional abuse that I experienced from early youth years through adult years. If a highly intentional change was not made, that would not happen and I very well could've been the next person to carry the torch. 

I refuse to become the next person to carry the torch that has been passed on for far too long, and it is my mission to inspire others to do the same. We do not always get to control what happens in life, but we always get to control our response. 

The reason why I am so passionate about inspiring people to focus on building a foundation for sustained success through goal setting is because it truly does help you chart a new course for your life, your family's life, your future family's life, and so on. You have two options with anything that happens to you in this life, you can let it shape you or break you. Choose option #1.
