Our stories today celebrate the coming end of winter and arrival of spring…almost. We’re right on the cusp of the seasons in the Village but there are a lot of things to enjoy in those weeks. We’ll start with Sugar Snow, a story about a brief cold snap and the fond memories it brings. Then we’ll head out of town in Getaway and let sunny walks by the water blow away the winter cobwebs. Finally we’ll spend a day inside as the cold rain falls, reminiscing and making a cosy space to relax in Pillow Forts and Treehouses.

Winter To Spring

I should say, if you are new here, that all of our stories take place in the same universe and sometimes you’ll recognize a narrator from a previous tale or see some overlap of story lines. We’ll see that today. We’ll start with The Lilac Thief as she pulls off a heist on a dusty country road. Then we’ll step out onto the porch and enjoy the gloaming in Strawberry Moon. Finally we’ll revisit the reformed thief as she shares her favorite flowers in the Lilac Grower.

The Lady in the Painting

Our stories today highlight some of the loveliest simple pleasures of the spring. A walk, a road trip, a day in the garden. We’ll start with one of my all-time favorite stories and one that inspired me to write a whole book (coming soon!). It’s called Old Houses and if you’ve ever walked through a neighborhood and wondered about the stories of the houses you see, the people who have lived there, it is for you. Then we’ll load up the car and head out to The Hideaway for some time at the Cabin. Finally, we’ll gather our trowels and seed packets and pace out the garden in Spring at the Allotment.
