Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 22. I will then key in on verse 29 - Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men. Friends, in the story that I will share today that man is Jesus Himself. He excelled in the work that He did. He had compassion on this widow and raised her son from the dead. On today's podcast we will continue our study on the Gospel according to Luke. We will begin in Chapter 7, verse 11. By the end of today's lesson there are three things that I ask that you consider:

1. Jesus had compassion on the mother.

2. Jesus raises up a man from the dead.

3. Frear came upon all, and they glorified God.

Call to Action - Now that everyone knows that Jesus has raised a man from the dead, I'd like for you to predict what will happen in the next few chapters?

Friends, if you are going to drink, may I suggest that you do so in moderation (never having enough to actually become drunk). On today's podcast we will continue our study on the Gospel according to Luke. We will begin in Chapter 7, beginning in verse 1. By the end of this lesson, there are three things that I ask that you consider:

1. A centurion asks Jesus to heal his servant.

2. This centurion demonstrates great faith.

3. Jesus marvels at the centurian's great faith.

Call to Action - Ask yourself this question - do you have the faith that Jesus is able to heal you of any disease that you have (the Bible tells us that because of the stripes that Jesus took on His back on the cross, that we have been healed).

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 17. I will then key in on verse 14 - The beginning of strife is like releasing water; Therefore stop contention before a quarrel starts. Friends - as I often bring up on this podcast our words are vitally important. We should do all we can to avoid strife. The best way to do that is to weigh our words carefully before we speak. Many times we can avoid beginning quarrels just by being discerning in our words. On today's podcast I will wrap up this week by bringing a bit more clarity and offering a few suggestions of things we can do in our life to demonstrate our Christian walk. By the end of the lesson I ask that you consider three points:

1. "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth."

2. If someone compels you to go one mile, go with them two.

3. You may be sons of your Father in Heaven.

Call to Action - Be mindful of the fact that we are to be led by the Spirit of God, and not by our flesh. This week we learned that we should love our enemies, that we should not judge others, and that to lead a successful life, we need to build our life on the Rock - that is Jesus Christ Himself. Pray that God will help you in doing those things.

I will then key in on verse 5 - Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished. Friends, both James, the half-brother of Jesus (in chapter 4) and Peter (the leader of the disciples) - in 1 Peter, Chapter 5, tell us that God resists the proud, but that He gives grace to the humble. On today's podcast we will continue our study of the Gospel according to Luke. Today we will be completing Chapter 6. By the end of today's lesson, there are three things that I ask that you consider:

1. Why do you call me, "Lord, Lord?"

2. We need to build on the Rock (that is, Jesus).

3. If you don't follow His commandments, you are headed for ruin.

Call to Action - Ask yourself how seriously you take the letters that are in "red" in the Bible? (All words found in the Bible that are in red are the actual words that Jesus spoke when He was on Earth).

He who disdains instruction despises his own soul, But he who heeds rebuke gets understanding. Friends, God will chasten us if He sees us needing correction - whether it is through His word, our spouse, our boss, our kids, our parents, or anyone else who is in our inner circle. Be open to make changes in your life when you are rebuked. On today's podcast we will continue our study on the Gospel according to Luke. We will continue where we left on Monday's podcast. By the end of today's lesson there are three things that I ask that you consider:

1. Judge not, condemn not, forgive.

2. Can the blind lead the blind?

3. Every tree is known by its fruit.

Call to Action - Take a close look at yourself and ask yourself if you are in a habit of judging people? If so, the next time you are tempted to judge someone take a close look at your life and see if there are any issues in your life that you may need to make changes - prior to speaking your mind.

Osa is a third year Charis Bible College student at Charis Bible College. Osa was born in Sweden. She talks a bit about her childhood. She talks about her first marriage and being a missionary in the country of Bolivia in South America. She was there about ten years. She talks about how her youngest child was miraculously healed. She then changes direction and talks about how she was drawn to Charis Bible College. She talks about her mission trip to Alaska last year and what she has learned this year in Film and Production school.

I will then key in on verse 3 - He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction. Friends, before you open your mouth, especially if the person you are planning on speaking with has just wronged you, and you are upset with them, think carefully - take your time- choose your words carefully. If you guard your mouth, you will preserve your mouth. On today's podcast we will continue our study on the Gospel according to Luke. Today we will pick up where we left off on Thursday's podcast. We will be going over ten verses - but these ten verses are as difficult to do as any ten verses in the Bible. By the end of this lesson there are three things that I ask that you consider:

1. Jesus says to love our enemies.

2. Do unto others as we would have them do unto us.

3. Jesus was kind to the unthankful and evil.

Call to Action - Think carefully about the instructions of Jesus that we have heard today. Ask yourself what you need to do in order to begin following these instructions.
