Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 23. I will then introduce you to my special guest for the day, Josiah Gallegos. Josiah is a fellow 2nd year student attending Charis Bible College. Josiah shares how he grew up a a loving, Christian home, and how he gave his heart to Jesus at a very early age. He says how, at an early age, he had an issue with lying, and at times how he stole from his grandparents. And yet, he knew that Jesus loved him. He tells about how Jesus healed him of a condition that was on his back while he was still young. He began to draw closer to Jesus and came to Charis Bible College at the age of 19. This experience has really developed Josiah into who he is today. He continues to grow in his knowledge of the truth. He shares how his IAGs have prepared him this year and how he has high expectations for his mission trip to Germany coming up in the next few days.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 22. I will then key in on verse 8 -He who sows iniquity will reap sorrow, And the rod of his anger will fail. Friends, the theme of this verse is that you will sow what you reap. If you are evil and sow violence, the violence will probably return to you. If, however, if you are righteous you can avoid situations like this. On today's podcast we will pick up where we left off on Thursday's podcast (if you did not get a chance to catch that podcast, I invite you to do so). After completing this lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. Jesus is rejected in His hometown of Nazareth.

2. Jesus miraculously escapes from Nazareth.

3. Jesus casts out an unclean Spirit.

Call to Action: Prior to reading a passage of scripture that contains red letters (the actual words spoken by Jesus) pray to God that you will come to understand the true nature of Jesus and that you will become more like Him.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 19. I will then key in on verse 20 - Listen to counsel and receive instruction, That you may be wise in your latter days. Friends, we are not meant to live our lives alone and isolated. This verse tells us that we are to have people we can converse with and ask advise from. If we do that, and are teachable, we will acquire wisdom and live longer, happier lives. On today's podcast I will go over three lessons one can learn from playing a round of golf. (I believe these three tips can carry over to life in general):

1. Stay even with or behind other people that you are playing golf with.

2. If you are going to play golf with other people, be aware of how they are playing.

3. If you are going to play golf with other people, your goal should be to have a good time.

Call to Action: Friends, when you are around other people do you stay in the moment (and are aware of how the people around you are doing), or do you only think about yourself?

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 18. I will then key in on verse 22 - He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord. Friends, if you enter into a marriage relationship with the person God has chosen for you to marry, you will obtain favor from Him (this is not the case for those who choose NOT to get married). On today's podcast we will continue our study on the Gospel according to Luke. We will pick up in Chapter 4, beginning in verse 9. By the end of this lesson three things that I ask that you consider are these:

1. We are not to tempt the Lord, our God.

2. When the devil realized he could not tempt Jesus, he left him.

3. Jesus reveals why He came to Earth.

Call to Action - the Bible tells us that we are to be led by the Spirit of God. On today's podcast I went over the three temptations that satan tempted Jesus with - and the same three that he tempts us with today) - the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life). Are you led by the Spirit, or do you allow yourself to be led by these three temptations?

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 17. I will then key in on verse 5 - He who mocks the poor reproaches his Maker, He who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished. Friends, God is not a respecter or persons - so we should not mock people who are less fortunate than us. We also should never be glad when any individual has calamity happen in their lives. We are NOT the judge! On today's podcast, we will continue our study on the Gospel according to Luke. Today we will begin Chapter 4. Prior to beginning the chapter I will review what all has happened in chapters 1-3. We ended Chapter 3 by Jesus being baptized in the River Jordan by John the Baptist and God declaring from Heaven that Jesus was His son, and that He was well pleased with Him. By the end of the lesson three things that I ask you to consider are these:

1. Jesus is drawn into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit (not the devil) - I believe the Holy Spirit was preparing Jesus for His public ministry.

2. Satan challenges the identity of Jesus.

3. Jesus responds to the temptation of satan by quoting scripture - this is something that we can do as well in our lives today.

Call to Authority - When satan comes at you and begins to lure you into temptations by telling you lies, how do you respond? Do you respond like Jesus did, and begin quoting scripture? Or - do you listen to what he tells you and fall into temptation?

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 16. I will then introduce you to my special guest for the day, Gabe Prindle. Gabe is a fellow second year Charis Bible College student. Gabe shares about his upbringing. He fell into the ways of this world in high school and came to the realization that he wanted to have Jesus into his heart. He was drawn to Charis Bible College and it has radically changed his life. He goes over second year IAGs and mentions how his mission trip impacted his life.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 15. I will then key in on verse 9 - The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But He loves him who follows righteousness. Friends, this verse is very clear. To please God we must NOT do evil, but be righteous. Over and over again in proverbs it talks about the benefits you will receive for being righteous and the bad things that will happen to you if you are not. On today's podcast, I will go over Chapter 3, and read verses 18-38. Upon completion of this lesson I ask that you consider three things:

1. Herod the tetrarch puts John the Baptist in jail (for rebuking him).

2. God announces that Jesus is His son (immediately upon being baptized).

3. Luke traces Jesus's lineage all the way back to Adam.

Call to Action - Imagine what it must have been like that day - when God orally spoke from Heaven announcing that Jesus was His son, and that He was well pleased with Him.
