Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 8. I will then introduce you to my special guest for the day - Joe Steyskal. Joe is a part of my Thursday morning mens' golf group. I have known him close to two years now, and know him as a man of God. Joe will share the two verses from Proverb 8 which spoke to him today - (verses 10 & 11), and details about his early life. The church has had a profound impact on Joe's life - but he fell into the trap by being tempted by the material things of this world. He eventually came to the realization that material things can come and go, but your relationship with God (and other people) are what's really important.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 7. I will then key in on verses 11 & 12 - She was loud and rebellious, Her feet would not stay at home. At times she was outside, at times in the open square, Lurking at every corner. Friends, there are many people in our world today that will attempt to tempt you and try to seduce you (into having sex and causing you to be unfaithful to your spouse). We are to avoid that temptation. Prior to beginning today's lesson I will review the three points I introduced on last Thursday's podcast (Episode #829 - if you did not get a chance to tune in, I invite you to do so). On today's lesson we will go over the first seven verses of Luke, Chapter 15. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. Jesus would often eat with tax collectors and known sinners.

2. Jesus compared the joy of finding a lost sheep to the joy of heaven over a sinner's repentance.

3. God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill & Judy Kelley. We will begin by singing Happy Birthday to America as we celebrate 249 years as a country. We will then read Proverb 4. Judy & I will go over the verses that spoke to us today (Judy - verses 21 & 22) & (Bill - verses 18 & 19). We will then go over the past year together - both as a couple and a few words on our travels, but also the state of our country and the changes that have taken place in it since July of last year. I will then key in on verses 1 & 2 - My son, do not forget my law, But let your heart keep my commands; For length of days and long life And peace they will add to you. Friends, if you read the Bible and follow the commandments stated in it you will have both long life and peace. What a wonderful promise! On today's podcast I will continue my study of the Gospel according to Luke. Today we will complete the 14th chapter. By the end of today's podcast there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. Receiving Jesus as your Lord and Savior means your life will be forever changed.

2. Becoming a disciple of Jesus means you must forsake all.

3. Remaining useful to God means remaining faithful to Him.

I will then key in on verses 10-12 - When wisdom enters your heart, And knowledge is pleasant to your soul, Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you, To deliver you from the way of evil, From the man who speaks perverse things. Friends if you read scripture on a regular basis the Holy Spirit will allow you to say no to things that concern evil. I will begin today's lesson by reviewing the three points I brought up on the previous lesson (Episode 824 - Luke, Chapter 14 (#2) on the Episode of June 19th. If you did not get a chance to tune into that podcast I invite you to do so). I will then continue our study of the Gospel according to Luke. Today we will be going over Chapter 14, verses 25-30. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. Becoming a disciple of Jesus means we must put Him abouve anything else (or anyone) else in our lives.

2. A disciple will be rejected by those in the world who do not honor Christ.

3. Following Christ is not something to be taken up on a trial basis. It calls for ultimate commitment

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 1. I will then introduce you to my special guest for the day - Mario Marquez. Mario graduated with Judy and me on from Charis Bible College on May 13, 2023 - a little over two years ago. He was on this podcast previously on Episode #497 - which aired on February 27th of 2024). I would highly encourage anyone who enjoys today's testimony to please check out the archives and listen to that as well). Today Mario will go over his favorite verse from Proverb 1. He will then review the highlights of the mission trip he took while a 2nd year student at Charis Bible College student (in order to graduate from Charis each student must complete a mandatory mission trip). He will then go over what he currently is doing to serve the Lord. He will be on again and continue updating his testimony as he faithfully obeys the Lord's call on his life.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley.  Today we will be going over Proverb 30.  I will then key in on verse 32 (NLT) - If you have been a fool by being proud (God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble) or plotting evil (we should have nothing to do with this) cover your mouth in shame.  Today we will continue our study in the Book of Exodus.  I will pick up where I left off on Thursday's podcast - if you did not listen to the Jan. 26th podcast, I encourage you to listen to that episode prior to listening to this.  We will continue in Chapter #32 and go over four new points: 1.  Moses destroys the Golden Calf (I will read verses 17-20).  Most destroys the two tablets containing the Ten Commandments that God had written for the Israelite people and the burns this Golden Calf down (and has the people drink it!); 2. Moses asks Aaron how this happened? (Moses does not understand how Aaron allowed the people to so blatantly go against the word of God by breaking the First Commandment).  Aaron tells Moses that this calf just appeared - and does not tell him that he had fashioned the calf; 3.  Moses asks who truly loves the Lord (3,000 people are killed in the camp that day).  God wants the people to decide for themselves whether they are going to obey the commandments the God gives them, and those that won't; 4.  Moses again intervenes on behalf of the Israelites people (I will read verses 32 & 33).  Moses is willing to die - should God not be willing to forgive the people.  CALL to ACTION - Go to God in your prayer time and ask Him if there is anything in your life that He is not pleased with - and repent of this, and turn around.  Suggested scripture reading:  1.  Reread the 32nd chapter of Exodus in its entirety; 2.  Read psalm 91 (today and every day throughout the coming week); 3.  Reread today's proverb, Proverb 30 in its entirety.
