Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 14. I will then key in on verses 5-7 - A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness breathes out lies. A scoffer seeks wisdom in vain, but knowledge is easy for a man of understanding. Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge. Friends, these verses talk about the importance of watching our words. If we are righteous the words that come out of our mouth will have fruit (they will be productive). Fools will spew forth words that bring harm to people. On today's podcast we will be continuing our study of the Book of Romans. Today we will go over Chapter 2, verses 13-20. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. Human beings deceive through flattery and lying.
2. Their feet are swift to shed blood; in their paths are ruin and misery.
3. There is no fear of God before their eyes - I think this is the main reason for the harm people cause with the destructive words that come out of their mouths or the actions that they do.
Scriptures referenced on today's podcast:
Proverb 15:5-7; Romans 3:13-20; Proverb 18:21; James 3:6-10; Psalm 5:9; Psalm 10:7; Proverb 1:16
Call to Action - I ask that everyone tuning in to today's podcast think carefully about the words that they will speak (prior to speaking). I ask that they also think about the consequences that may result if they act in a way that they know would not please God.
