  • Day 1681– The Experience Of Failure – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Day 1681 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomThe Experience of Failure – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. We are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! We are on Day 1681 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Elbert Hubbard, and it is: A failure is a man who has blundered but is not capable of cashing in on the experience.
    The Experience of Failure
Any person who attempts anything significant will fail in their pursuits somewhere along their journey. The more you attempt, the greater the possibility of failure will be. On a personal note, I have attempted many adventures in life. Some of the enterprises were successful, some of which were not. I probably look successful in the eyes of most people, but my failure to success ratio is probably about the same as anyone. One thing I did differently than some was that I turned my experiences into future success. I attempted to learn from each painful lesson of failure, which there have been many, and use it the next time for my benefit. It is the same with you. You will fail at times, guaranteed, but you need to be willing to take the rich lessons of those failures and use them as a downpayment towards your next adventure. God will give you wisdom, if you are willing to use it. You must work hard and keep on keeping on, especially when you feel like giving up. There are no rewards so rich as the lessons learned and the experience gained from total failure. You will never completely fail unless you give up and not try again.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Chronicles%2022%3A13andversion=NLT (1 Chronicles 22:13)
For you will be successful if you carefully obey the decrees and regulations that the Lord gave to Israel through Moses. Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or lose heart!

Today’s quote is from John Lennon, and it is: A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.
    Dream Together
No one in this world is an island unto themselves. Even those who claim to be self-made required a lot of assistance from others to succeed throughout their entire life. The same applies to our dreams. If we ever hope to turn our dreams into reality, then it will be exponentially easier when others share are dreams. In this way, we can share our success because we would not be successful without others. First, we must recognize that it is only by the grace of God that we have the intellect, drive, and passion, coupled with opportunities to take advantage of those opportunities. Next, we need others who have abilities and strengths that we do not have to assist us where we are lacking. Lastly, we must be willing to make the sacrifices needed to allow our dreams to become a reality. Success will require others to come along with us. Welcome their assistance, and succeed together.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ecclesiastes%204%3A9-12andversion=NLT (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone?

Today’s quote is from Denis Waitley, and it is: A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown.
    Creative Vision
Dreams are essential both in your sleep at night and for your future vision. Dreams help you to imagine that which may be far off. Dreams are like looking through a telescope to see your final destination in various areas of your life. Like you cannot navigate with a telescope, you need goals and plans that will enable you to have a creative vision of how you will reach your destination. As you proceed towards your final vision during your trek of life, you will run into many obstacles and setbacks on your way. You will experience many unfamiliar and unknown situations which will take you out of your comfort zone into situations you would prefer to avoid. Going through these times will help you to appreciate your waypoints and destination even more. Allow you minds, hearts, and soul to learn and grow during those difficult times. If your vision is solid and creative enough, it will be worth the journey. Make sure you enjoy the journey and not just yearn for the destination. God ultimately knows what we will face in our journey of life, and we can rest in the fact that He will be there with us and guide us.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Jeremiah%2029%3A11andversion=NLT (Jeremiah 29:11)
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Welcome to Day 1678 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomDesired Dreams – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Matt Yates, and it is: A dream is what you desire if anything and everything is possible.
    Desired Dreams
If money and time were not a restriction, what would your dreams be? Would you pay off debt, buy things, upgrade your home, buy a new home, start a business, or invest in the lives of others? None of these are mutually exclusive and could all be part of your dream. The fact is, you can do all of the items on this list with what you have available today. We should not wait for ideal conditions because that will never happen. Create a list of your dreams. Prioritize them to what is practical and feasible for now, or in the short term. Expand your plan to include what steps you need to put in place to achieve your objectives that are not attainable short term. Choose what you are willing to sacrifice now so that you can achieve what you desire the most. Don’t get this list confused. You must sacrifice what you desire now for what you desire most. Otherwise, your long-term, more significant goals will never happen. Yes, you should dream and dream big, but you also have to be willing to wait, persevere, and work hard for those big dreams. You will not be able to accomplish all your dreams overnight, it will take a lifetime of passion, but it will happen with proper discipline and restraint. As with most facets of our lives, it can be narrowed down to the principle of planting and harvesting. Plant well, care for your crops during the growing season, and you will harvest well. The same applies to your dreams.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James%205%3A7andversion=NLT (James 5:7)
Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen.

Welcome to Day 1677 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomA Dream and a Goal – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.
Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase wisdom and create a living legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) says, "How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver!" If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from Harvey Mackay, and it is, “A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline.”
A Dream and a GoalWe all need to dream, but if we don’t take the next steps, then just like a dream while sleeping, it will soon evaporate with the day as our minds become busy with other distractions. The only way to hang onto a dream and then progress towards making a dream come true is to set goals based on that dream and then create a plan with definitive deadlines that we must achieve. The first step is to analyze your dream to determine if it is possible to turn it into reality. Suppose it is, then determine what goals need to be set for the achievement of that dream. Once the goal is set, then you must create a plan to reach that goal. Next, you must set a deadline for when each part of the plan will be achieved. Otherwise, a dream is just a dream, which will quickly evaporate from your mind.

Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20Timothy%202%3A15andversion=NLT (2 Timothy 2:15)
Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.

If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Colin Powell, and it is: A dream doesn’t become a reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work.
    Turning Dreams Into Reality
Most of us are dreamers, and we like the dreams we envision for ourselves. So, naturally, we desire our dreams to come true, but they do become a reality through magic. For dreams to become true, we must be willing to invest what it takes for that to happen. There is no magic or secret formula. I will give you the recipe for turning dreams into reality. It takes equal measurements of sweat, determination, and hard work. Mix these ingredients vigorously for a long time, and it will harden your resolve to achieve that which you dream. There are no easy paths to the success that we desire in any area of life. Hard work is a gift from God, one that we must choose to enjoy because work is from God. Don’t delude yourself into thinking that dreams will magically become a reality. Follow the precepts found in God’s Word.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2013%3A11andversion=NLT (Proverbs 13:11)
Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time.

If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from John Maxwell, and it is: A difficult time can be more readily endured if we retain the conviction that our existence holds a purpose — a cause to pursue, a person to love, a goal to achieve.
    Finding Your Purpose
I believe all of us have asked and maybe even continue to ask about our purpose in life. Sometimes life seems somewhat futile, or as King Solomon wrote in https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ecclesiastes+1%3A2andversion=NLT (Ecclesiastes 1:2), “Everything is meaningless,” says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!” If this is our thinking, then yes, life will seem difficult. We can take comfort in knowing that God is in control. Therefore, He has a greater purpose for our lives than we can ever hope or imagine. If we retain that conviction, we will find purpose in causes that we pursue, persons we love, and goals that we strive to achieve. We cannot lose sight that God does have a divine purpose for each person. We are His imagers, and because of that, our primary purpose is to image Him. Our purpose will be manifested through our vocation, our family life, and our recreation. So when you find that life is difficult, or you are struggling with finding your purpose, stay focused on those you love, the causes that are meaningful to you, and the goals you would like to achieve. When you do this, you will also find your purpose.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians%202%3A10andversion=NLT (Ephesians 2:10)
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

  • Day 1674 – The Trials of Perfection – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Day 1674 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomThe Trials of Perfection – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! We are on Day 1674 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from a Chinese Proverb, and it is: A diamond cannot be polished without friction, nor the man perfected without trials.
    The Trials Of Perfection
Did you ever have a rock tumbler when you were younger? At some point in our family, I know we had at least one. It was neat to put the rough, sharp, and dirty stones into the tumbler, which also contained water and sand. It would spin the tumbler when it was turned on, and it wasn't quiet when starting. Over the following hours, the noise level of the tumbling rocks would become less and less. The hardness of the original stones determined how long the process would take. Even the hardest stone, like a diamond, will eventually be polished to a smooth and beautiful gemstone. Gems will not be produced if there is no sand and water causing friction.
So it is with our lives, our hard edges will only be made smooth with the friction of trials and difficulties which we face. No one likes to go through these trials, but they are required to become the gemstones in God’s kingdom. The more complex our character and personalities are, the more tests are necessary to make us pure. Instead of avoiding the trials, we must accept them and become fully immersed to learn quickly. Just like the stones in the rock tumbler, or gold in a fire, it should desire to come out as beautiful gems and pure gold.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Peter+1%3A6-7andversion=NLT (1 Peter 1:6-7)
So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

We are on Day 1673 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from John Lubbock, and it is: A day of worry is more exhausting than a week of work.
    A Day Of Worry
While I enjoy the work that I do daily, it does require that I am in front of a computer for at least 10 hours a day, many times longer. Besides being on my feet at my standing desk for all of those hours, It is certainly not physically demanding work. There is a lot of mental processing that must go on for all of those hours. At the end of each day, I am mentally and somewhat physically exhausted. I yearn to be outside working hard physically, but that is not the plan God has for me. To make up for this, I do exercise each morning vigorously for about 75 minutes. That certainly helps me physically, and I know it is necessary to continue living a healthy lifestyle. I do long for the weekends, where I can get out of doors and work hard physically. One exhausting task that I do is cutting up our numerous giant trees with a large chainsaw and then splitting them into firewood with our log splitter. At the end of a few hours of that, and I am physically spent. But you know what, it is an exhaustion that you can appreciate. Another type of exhaustion that is not satisfying and will destroy you if you allow it to invade you is the exhaustion that comes from worry. Nearly all worry is based on fear and not facts. Anxiety will destroy you spiritually, emotionally, and even physically. Two solutions will help you when you are prone to worry. First, invest time in some very strenuous physical activities. Second, find someone who requires assistance or in need of a friend and invest time into their lives. You will find that you are worrying less and have more energy than ever.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

  • Day 1672 – Hemmed in Prayer – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Day 1672 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to WisdomHemmed in Prayer – Daily WisdomWelcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1672 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote along with some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Charles Spurgeon, and it is: A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.
    Hemmed in Prayer
Ever have one of those days where it seems to unravel before your very eyes? I have had my share of them. Sometimes they come all at once. When life begins to unravel, where can we run? How do you start and end your day? I would recommend that you hem the beginning of each new day by allowing God’s Word to flow through you and seeking His face through prayer. When you establish the proper mindset at the beginning of each day, it will allow you to focus on what is most important in life. When you end your day with a prayer of gratitude for another day well-lived, you hem the day that might have otherwise unraveled.
Why do we hem a piece of cloth? So that it looks finished. So that it doesn’t unravel. So that it doesn’t fall apart. We hem so that the fabric is protected and the edges are secure.
Our all-knowing God is doing that for our lives. He hems us in so that we have borders and those borders are protected. God hems us in so that we are secure and finished in Him. He hems us in, behind us, and before us. What an important truth to live, remember, you are hemmed in today. The borders of your life are protected and secure because of our all-knowing, all-loving God.
If your life has come unraveled, turn in prayer to the Master Tailor. He stands at the ready with the needle in hand. God is prepared to put things back for you. All you have to do is “stand still”…..and see the salvation of the Lord. The Master hems you in through prayer.
    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+31%3A1-5andversion=NLT (Psalm 31:1-5)
    O Lord, I have come to you for protection;
    don’t let me be disgraced.
Save me, for you do what is right.
    Turn your ear to listen to me;
    rescue me quickly.
    Be my rock of protection,
a fortress where I will be safe.
You are my rock and my fortress.
For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger.
Pull me from the trap my enemies set for me,
for I find protection in you alone.
I entrust my spirit into your hand.
Rescue me, Lord, for you are a faithful God.
