Welcome to Day 1894 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.

Be Filled With Joy – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1894 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote and some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. So we are on a daily trek to create a legacy of wisdom, seek out discernment and insights, and boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before.

Hello, my friend; this is Gramps. Thanks for coming along on today’s trek as we increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A16andversion=NLT (Proverbs 16:16) How much better to get wisdom than gold, and sound judgment than silver! If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Catherine Marshall, and it is: According to Jesus, it is God’s will that His children be filled with the joy of life.
    Be Filled With Joy

Every Christ-follower should be filled with joy to overflowing. Of course, that doesn’t mean that life will be easy all the time or that we won’t have problems or discouragements. But, it means that regardless of the pains of life, we know who holds our past, present, and future and that we are secure in Jesus Christ. Once we understand that our overriding purpose in life is to use our God-given talents and abilities to build God’s kingdom here on earth, our priorities and focus on life will serve that purpose. All too often, our sense of significance, purpose, and security is tied to what we do for a living or our family and friends. While we should do our very best in whatever we do for a living and foster strong relationships with family and friends, the only lasting value is what we do in life that will impact others for eternity. Our occupation and calling are to build God’s kingdom. Our job, family, and friends are how we fulfill that occupation. If we have our priorities in life correct, we can be filled with joy every day, regardless of the challenges and obstacles. The key is obedience to the calling of God through Christ Jesus.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+15%3A9-17andversion=NLT (John 15:9-17)

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. This is my command: Love each other.

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge. If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from William James, and it is: Acceptance of what has happened is the first step to overcoming the consequences of any misfortune.
    Consequences of Misfortune

We all make mistakes and will fail at times in our lives. We could allow it to defeat us long-term and negatively impact our lives, or we could accept what happened, acknowledge where we fell short, and take the necessary measures to do better the next time. Acceptance of defeat and setbacks is a sign of both wisdom and maturity. Without accepting our shortcomings, we will be mired in the consequences of previous actions and choices and will leave no room for improvement in the future. Therefore, in all decisions, choices, and actions, we must be willing to accept all consequences of those decisions, choices, and actions. We are always free to choose but not free from the consequences of our choices. Therefore, choose well and choose wisely.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Joshua+24%3A14-18andversion=NLT (Joshua 24:14-18)

“So fear the Lord and serve him wholeheartedly. Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshiped when they lived beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord alone. But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”

The people replied, “We would never abandon the Lord and serve other gods. For the Lord our God is the one who rescued us and our ancestors from slavery in the land of Egypt. He performed mighty miracles before our very eyes. As we traveled through the wilderness among our enemies, he preserved us. It was the Lord who drove out the Amorites and the other nations living here in the land. So we, too, will serve the Lord, for he alone is our God.”

Today’s quote is from Steve Maraboli, and it is: Accept yourself, your strengths, your weaknesses, your truths, and know what tools you have to fulfill your purpose.
    Know Your Tools

God has created us with a unique set of character traits, talents, strengths, and abilities. He desires us to use them to our most total capabilities and for His glory. Since that is a fact, it is up to us to discover and intimately know what tools or skills God has blessed us with. We need to understand our strengths and also our weaknesses. When we find out this truth about ourselves, we can know and fulfill the purpose for which we are created. Think about the skill set you have been blessed with as tools in your toolbox for life. Likewise, you were blessed with tools to serve God for His purpose in your life. Make sure you know your tools, and as crucial that you use those tools within your toolbox of life.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus+35%3A30-35andversion=NLT (Exodus 35:30-35)

Then Moses told the people of Israel, “The Lord has specifically chosen Bezalel, son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. The Lord has filled Bezalel with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze. He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood. He is a master at every craft. And the Lord has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach their skills to others. The Lord has given them special skills as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple, and scarlet thread on fine linen cloth, and weavers. They excel as craftsmen and as designers.

Today’s quote is from Maxwell Maltz, and it is: Accept yourself as you are. Otherwise, you will never see opportunity. You will not feel free to move toward it; you will feel you are not deserving.
    Accept Yourself

God created you wonderfully complex and marvelous. Therefore, since you are designed as an imager of God, you should accept yourself as you are. God created you as you are to seize the excellent opportunities that He has planned for you. Still, you will only be able to take advantage of those opportunities if you accept yourself. Who can stand against us if God is the designer of our lives? God makes no mistakes, and he created you as a male or female with specific talents, abilities, and skills to serve His purpose. To ignore or deny these facts is to spit into God’s face as if He did not know what He was doing. Accept yourself, and accept the purpose for which you were created. It is then that you will be able to live the rich and satisfying life planned for you before the beginning of time.

Today’s quote is from Wisdom-Trek, and it is: Accept your past without regrets. Handle your present with confidence. Face your future without fear.
    The Past, Present, and Future

Our outlook on life will determine our level of joy and peace. We all have decisions in our past that we may decide differently based on our current wisdom and knowledge, but we can’t change the past, making us who we are today. Nothing is gained by regretting the past. Instead, accept the past and use it as an instructor to make wiser decisions today and in the future. We can handle the present with confidence knowing that we are wiser and more knowledgeable today than in the past. The decision and choices we are making today will add to our wisdom and knowledge, allowing us to face the future with boldness. We can use this courage to march into the future without fear. God, our creator, has everything in His control, so there is no reason to fear. He has created us to be His imagers, and as such, we can confidently move through each day without fear. Even if we fail and make unwise choices, we can continue forward, knowing God is with us.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2%20Timothy%201%3A6%2D8andversion=NLT (2 Timothy 1:6-8)

This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News.

Today’s quote is from Les Brown, and it is: Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go, no one else.
    Accept Responsibility

It is so easy to blame others or our lot in life instead of accepting responsibility for everyone or everything that comes across your path in life. You first must realize that people and life are not always fair. There are many situations in life that we can wish were different, but that is not going to change them. You can only change how you react to people and circumstances, which will determine your outcome. Therefore, you must remain persistent and dependable even when others are not. In doing so, you will be able to go where you desire and do the things you desire. Be faithful in all things, accept responsibility for what you need to, and then leave the rest to God to take care of. We do not need to worry, fret, or blame. Just keep on keeping on.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+16%3A10-11andversion=NLT (Luke 16:10-11)

“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?

If you apply the words you hear today, over time, it will help you become more healthy, wealthy, and wise as you continue your daily trek of life. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:

Today’s quote is from Zig Ziglar, and it is: Accept God’s grace through faith, then prove His grace through works.
    Prove Grace Through Works

God’s grace to us is free and abundant. We can do nothing to earn it, and there is nothing we can do to lose it short of refusing to accept the grace extended to us. Mercy is the act of withholding deserved punishment, while grace is the act of endowing unmerited favor. In His mercy, God does not give us the punishment we deserve, namely hell, while in His grace, God provides us with the gift we do not deserve, namely heaven.

Mercy and grace are the utmost attributes of love. The essence of the Bible is loving God and loving people through the lens of Jesus Christ. Two great works of God have displayed His all-powerful, gracious, and merciful nature: creation and redemption.

While God’s work of creation demonstrated His mighty power, God’s work of redemption revealed His marvelous love, shown through His mercy and grace. This very love of God is indispensable for the existence of life and the salvation of humanity. As we are told in https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+145%3A8-9andversion=NLT (Psalm 145:8-9)

The Lord is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry, and filled with unfailing love. The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation

Acknowledging all of what I have just mentioned, we cannot take God’s grace for granted, and our lives should be living proof of the grace of God through our works. Grace is not provided to us because of our works, but our actions should reflect the grace that has been granted.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James+2%3A14-20andversion=NLT (James 2:14-20)

What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?

So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”

You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge.

Today’s quote is from Michael Jordan, and it is: Accept a loss as a learning experience and never point fingers.
    Learn Through Experiences

The philosophy of Wisdom-Trek is that life is a slow but persistent trek. Therefore, we focus on moving forward, one step at a time. Of course, there are days when we will not make any progress, and days when we are knocked backward on our path, but we never give up. We accept days of loss as an opportunity to learn from our experiences and better understand what caused us to be delayed in our progress. Learning from these experiences prepares us to move forward with a new resolve, not to make the same mistakes that caused us the previous loss. We must resist the temptation to point fingers and blame others or circumstances for our loss, and instead, we must move forward without blaming others or being victimized by our experiences. God permits us to go through experiences and tribulations to mature and strengthen us and bring glory to His name. We should accept those tough times as gifts from God. Learn from the difficult days, rejoice in the easy days, and keep moving forward.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Peter+5%3A8-11andversion=NLT (1 Peter 5:8-11)

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.

In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen.

Welcome to Day 1886 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.
This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom
    100% Responsible – Daily Wisdom
Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. We are on Day 1886 of our Trek, and it’s time to explore another nugget of wisdom, which includes an inspirational quote and some wise words from Gramps for today’s trek.

Today’s quote is from Gramps, and it is: A Rich and Satisfying life all starts with deciding to take 100% responsibility. Stop making excuses, stop blaming other people, your culture, your background, or anything else, and start on whatever you want to do with your life because today is the first day of the rest of your life.
    100% Responsible

We all have situations and issues that we could use as excuses for why we are in our position in life today. While our past and its obstacles may have contributed to who and where we are in life up to this point, it does not need to be an excuse for where we end up in the future. That is a choice that you need to make today. Today’s choices will be why you find yourself a year from now, ten years from now, or ten decades from now. You need to start today to make wise choices to ensure you will be where you desire to be in the future, in any area of life. I realize that I have mentioned this many times before, but you cannot defy God’s law of planting and harvesting. It is universal and as fixed as the law of gravity. What you plant today, you will harvest in the future. But like the farmer who patiently waits for the crop to grow and nurtures it throughout the process, you will need that same commitment in your life if you desire a rich and satisfying life in the future. So stop making excuses, accept 100% responsibility for your life, and start planting today, so you will be able to harvest tomorrow.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians+6%3A7-8andversion=NLT (Galatians 6:7-8)

Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.

Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps. Wisdom is the final frontier in gaining true knowledge.

Today’s quote is from Wisdom-Trek.com, and it is: Abundance is the ability to enjoy each day, not the size of our bank account.
    True Abundance

We all feel we would have an abundance if we didn’t have debt and we had more money in the bank. But, the truth is the size of your bank account, car, or house has little to do with actual abundance. The abundance of our hearts is true riches. Wealthy people or those with an abundance of material things are usually no more satisfied or at peace with themselves and others than someone who has very little of this world’s goods. An abundance only comes from being grateful for what you have already. If you are not thankful for what you already have, you will not be grateful for more. Learn to be content with whatever you have, and then if God allows you to obtain more material wealth, you will be satisfied at all times. Focus on having an abundance of the fruit of the spirit found in https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Gal+5%3A22-23andversion=NLT (Galatians 5:22-23), But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

We need to learn contentment from the Apostle Paul in https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Philippians+4%3A11-12andversion=NLT (Philippians 4:11-12)

Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.
