Within The Mist

Situated in San Jose, California, The Winchester Mystery House was once the personal residence of Sarah Winchester, the widow of firearm magnate William Wirt Winchester. Today, it is a hotspot for tourists fascinated by the architectural curiosities that were added to the mansion since it construction in 1886 to avoid the curse of the ghosts killed by the Winchester rifle or is there more than meets the eye to the twisted passageways that lead to dead ends, stairways that stop and doors that open to empty air?

Children across the globe who receive gifts for the holidays will dread receiving clothes that will be mixed in amongst their shiny new toys.  However, Iceland warns us against throwing those woolen socks to the side.  Wearing them just might save your life when Jólakötturinn, or the Yule Cat, peeks into your window and eats anyone who hasn’t received new clothes for Christmas.

Stalking the people in the farming province of Gevaudan, France was a large black Beast.  It was responsible for over a hundred deaths.  The most shocking part of this cryptid was that it was real.  Was it a wolf, a dog, or a mix of both that hunted people rather than livestock?
