Pride—it takes down marriages, churches, and even countries. Satan’s pride will eventually land him in the lake of fire for all eternity. Some will join Satan in his eternal destination. The Pharisees, swollen with pride over their positions and Bible knowledge, completely missed Jesus. Pride enters the heart quietly. It doesn’t need a big, wide open door. For the wife whose husband is recovering from porn addiction, all it takes is one thought: “My husband owes me . . . he needs to pay for what he did . . . he’d better do this my way and in my time, and if he doesn’t, he’s going to get it.”
