Episode 5 Being Courageous: At the age of 16, Johanna took a leap of faith leaving her family behind in Venezuela she came to the UK after working and training with her father in his carpentry business. She learned English and became an accountant but did not like her job and was given a second chance in life and trained as a painter and decorator. She now owns her own business and has two apprentices working for her.

Episode 4 – Being Courageous.  

In this episode we celebrate women in STEM. Meet Sarah Adewumi, an aviation scientist from Texas, USA who was the 51st Miss University at Maryland and loves to play tennis. She is passionate about encouraging more women into STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and feels that more needs to be done but is exciting about the progress so far.

Episode 3 – Being Courageous.  As part of International Women's Day, we are celebrating women in engineering.  Meet Chloe Smith, an Aerospace Engineer and student from Lancashire, UK who would like to travel to space one day and feels that not enough is being done to encourage young girls in school to get into this highly skilled trade.  Chloe is a very courageous woman, when she was told that she would never make it as an engineer, she proved them wrong.

Episode 1 – Finding Balance featuring Louise Azzopardi, a heavy vehicle mechanic from Australia. 

There is no doubt that Louise loves to help people feel better about themselves which is evident in this podcast.  She’s had a few different reactions for being a woman in trade, criticised for being too short. This did not stop Louise as larger bulky muscle men on the job always asked her for help as they could not fit into small spaces. She talks about her mental health journey with anxiety and depression, but life seems to be on the up for the mechanic and pole dancer!
