  • Re-Release: A Woman's Journey to the 7 Summits with Marta Misztal

Marta, originally from Poland, now lives in London, England. She credits this move for opening her eyes to new experiences and adventures. After the move, her love for travel, and the outdoors, grew immensely. But the more she traveled, the bigger her accomplishments on her agenda grew.

She is challenging herself to climb the 7 tallest summits on each continent, known as the 7 Summits, and The Crown of Europe, the tallest peak in each European country. As of 2020, she has climbed 23 of the 50 tallest peaks in Europe and 5 of the 7 summits. With Everest coming up in April 2021.

In this episode, we talk about her journey to the 7 summits, how she is preparing for Everest, how she is able to afford these long, expensive climbs, mental toughness and what it means to her to be able to work towards the goal of being the first person to climb both the 7 Summits and the Crown of Europe.

  • An Update: Heading West

In this quick episode, I chat all about my move to Colorado. How I packed my car, said goodbye to my loved ones and moved across the country. I called Maine home for my entire life, a whole 29 years and was moving to a place where I only knew a handful of people. Some might think I'm crazy for uprooting my life, and maybe I am, but I had to follow this feeling.

I wanted to share this update, briefly chat about the move, how I navigated finding my dream apartment in the mountains, and why I chose to settle in Breckenridge.

  • Why I think New Years resolutions are bullshit and living in alignment

I've never been one to set New Years resolutions and follow through with them. I would always set them and fail to see them through, whether it was because "life" got in the way or I simply stopped working toward it. Plus, I never really bought into the "new year, new me" mentality. It just wasn't for me.

In this solo episode, I briefly reflect on 2020, talk all about living in alignment and how I think New Years resolutions kind of mess with that. I also share actionable suggestions to help you live in alignment and the things that help me live purposefully.

  • Greatest lessons of 2020, psychedelics and looking ahead with Gaby Barboza

As we find ourselves in a new year, we can't help but reflect on the one that's just passed. 2020 was a year filled with ups, downs, learnings and realizations. This episode is about all of that. I had the chance to sit down with my longest friend, Gaby Barboza.

She is an RN, RYT-200, Reiki practitioner and soon to be Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP). Gaby is empowered by mindful, bio-individual, intentional holistic medicine. She sincerely believes that we are all capable of living an energized, happy, and fulfilling life and the answers lie within us if we can take some time to listen and also be heard by the practitioners we consult.

We've known each other since we were 3 years old - so to say we're close would be an understatement. In this episode, Gaby and I talk about the highs and lows of 2020, what our greatest lessons were and what we're looking forward to in this new revolution around the sun. We each determined 2021 to be the year of ______ and set goals and milestones we hope to reach - both personally and in business.

This episode is a gentle reminder that we are not alone, no matter how hard this life gets. A reminder to find the light in the dark.

  • What to expect traveling internationally during COVID-19

I'm going to be honest, I had no idea what to expect when traveling internationally during COVID-19. With so many questions running through my head, I turned to friends that recently returned from trips and to Google. But alas, nothing could prepare me for my own travel experience. It's like asking someone to tell you what love feels like: it's different for everyone!

I recently had the opportunity to visit Costa Rica, you can read about that in the blog post linked in the show notes. Traveling internationally wasn't a decision I made lightly and a number of factors came into play. Ultimately: I decided to travel internationally. In this episode I break down my experience traveling to Costa Rica. I chat about my experience in flight, in the airport and in country and what a little about what to expect about the overall process of traveling internationally during COVID-19.

  • My thoughts on traveling and practices for traveling safely during COVID-19

Flashback to March when I'd just returned from what I didn't know would be my last international trip for 9 months. I remember thinking that the pandemic would be swift, quick and life would get back to normal rather quickly. As the months rolled on- I realized that was not the case. And before I could get a handle on it, my life had completely changed. Seemingly overnight.

I made the decision to travel domestically, within the U.S., and internationally within the last couple of months. It was a decision I did not take lightly and I felt an overwhelming amount of responsibility when it came to sharing my experience. In this episode I chat about my first domestic flight during the pandemic and all of the precautions I will be taking for my first international trip this week. Along with my thoughts and feelings about why I've chosen to travel.

I share this episode with you to help educate you on traveling safely and how to respect the communities and countries you're visiting. The detriment that COVID-19 has caused the travel industry is devastating but what's more devastating is the economic loss in countries that rely so heavily on tourism. It's a double-edged sword to encourage travel right now but as someone that works in the industry, it is also my responsibility to share how travel can be done safely.

  • Saving a piece of Colorado's history: the Crystal Mill with Heather Leigh

Our love for Colorado over here at Women & the Wilderness is no secret. During Hannah's last trip to Colorado she finally visited the Crystal Mill, after years of waiting. It lived up to and exceeded every idea she had about it. During her visit, she learned a lot about the history and that the Crystal Mill is actually in danger of being closed down if it is purchased by a private buyer.

After learning of the Crystal Mill Foundation and the work that Heather, the foundations President, is doing to raise money to save the mill it made Hannah's experience that much sweeter.

This episode is all about the Crystal Mill and its rich Coloradan history. Heather dives deep into the history of the mill and why it is so special, she offers ways we can help save the mill and what would happen if the Crystal Mill Foundation was able to purchase and preserve the mill.
