She became the first Black African woman to compete at the World Cycling Championships in the USA this year. An inspiration for women's cycling in Africa, Jeanne d'Arc is also a symbol of hope in a country that cherishes women's empowerment in all sectors of the economy. She is also one of the beacons of hope from a country that befell one of the worst atrocities suffered by the human race.
