Team Rwanda Cyclist Jeanne d'Arc Girunbunti, 20, is a courageous Rwandan woman who is on a journey of self discovery, one that has already broken barriers. She became the first Black African woman to compete at the World Cycling Championships in the USA this year. An inspiration for women's cycling in Africa, Jeanne d'Arc is also a symbol of hope in a country that cherishes women's empowerment in all sectors of the economy. She is also one of the beacons of hope from a country that befell one of the worst atrocities suffered by the human race. Record breaking Canadian multi-sportswoman Heather Moyse won back-to-back Olympic gold medals in Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014 with her two-woman Bobsleigh partner Kaillie Humphries and a host of World Cup top three finishes from 2005-2014. In her Rugby career she represented Canada in two World Cups; in cycling at the 2012 Pan American Games, as well as her home province of Prince Edward Island in athletics, plus Varsity soccer, to name just a handful of her many accomplishments.
