The Dallas Wings score the #1 spot in the lottery for the WNBA draft and Danielle shares her love for UCONN’s Paige Bueckers. However, the best part of the episode is the interview with the owners of The 99ers Sports Bar, Miranda Spencer and Annie Weaver. The 99ers opens Friday, November 22nd. Miranda and Annie share how they decided to become business partners, the trials and tribulations of opening a bar, and their vision for the future. This week Carolyn and Danielle sat down with Doshia Woods, the head coach at the University of Denver Women’s Basketball program. Coach Woods’s story is really inspiring from how she grew up in East Topeka Kansas to now having over 20 years of coaching experience. She shared lessons learned as a head coach, how she takes care of herself, and is a great example of practicing what you preach. You do not want to miss this one.
This week Carolyn and Danielle sat down with Dea and Lindsey Vander Fertgus, the founders of the WNBA Club Denver. Dea and Lindsey share how they met each other (which is the cutest thing you will ever hear) and then share all about how the WNBA Club came to be. They talk about underrated players in the WNBA and hopes for the future. They care about the success of the WNBA and its players so much. We can’t wait for you to listen!
This week, Danielle highlights Texas’s win over Florida in NCAA Volleyball. Carolyn highlights Wake Forest’s win over Florida State in NCAA Soccer to snap FSU’s 32 game unbeaten streak. Then they deep dive into the WNBA Semifinals. The New York Liberty are headed to the finals while the Minnesota Lynx and Connecticut Sun head to game five. Danielle is upset she won’t see an Aces celebration, but does think Ellie the Elephant is going to give the audience a Finals experience they won’t forget. Carolyn highlights Washington Spirit’s win over Angel City in the NWSL and Danielle highlights ultra runner, Tara Dower who became the fastest person on record to complete the Appalachian Trail. Carolyn takes her bitterness from last week that Denver was not selected for a WNBA expansion team and turns it into an opinion article featured in the Denver Post. Then they deep dive into the WNBA semifinal matchups between NY Liberty and Las Vegas Aces and Minnesota Lynx and Connecticut Sun.
This week Carolyn and Danielle share about their week filled with social events and WNBA games. Danielle gives us an overview of Pitt’s historic start to their volleyball season and sweeping victory over Penn State. Then they complain about the WNBA’s expansion team in Portland and cover playoff matchups. They discuss WNBA season awards and then get into superlatives they made up for the players in the WNBA.
