Today we have “The New Sun” an episode of Words at War. It originally aired on NBC on February 15, 1944. It is based on the book of the same name by Japanese artist Iwamatsu Jun, writing under the name Taro Yashima. He wrote under that name during the war to protect his family still in Japan. Words at War was produced by NBC in cooperation with the Council on Books in Wartime and told stories condensed from books written about the war. It aired over NBC from 1943 to 1945.
