Episode 5. Narcissism and Gaslighting: Getting Out
On today’s episode of Words Never Spoken, we are discussing a trending topic in today’s world. And it’s good it’s being talked about, as much more awareness is being brought to it. We are talking about narcissism and the gaslighting that accompanies it.
Many of us have found ourselves in relationships with these patterns but were unaware of how unhealthy they were. We may have seen them in our families or in society and thought they were normal. Then, when we become more aware and decide we want to break the patterns, there are challenges to overcome.
Our guest, Ashley, shares the story of when she was evicted from her home by her partner, forcing her to finally do what she had known for a long time: she had to get out. She suddenly had to answer a lot of questions very quickly. Consider this: What do you do when you believe you don’t know what to do? Who do you turn to?
In this episode, we go deep into this. We cover how subtle these patterns can be sometimes, the things we tell ourselves that keep us in unhealthy situations, warning signs that may indicate we are dealing with a narcissist, and steps to getting out.
If this rings true for you, know you are not the only one; we know what it feels like. We also want you to know that there is a way out and a much brighter future possible. You are worthy of feeling good in your relationships.
