Y’all probably remember him from S1E5 “I Used to be Gay...Until CHRIST” in which West share’s his testimony of how he used to be gay, but is now denies his sin and is alive in Christ. It’s a powerful testimony, so go stream it! In this episode, we discuss what it means to deny our flesh and pursue Christ. It’s not an easy task (AT ALL!), which is why we need to ask the Holy Spirit for discernment and Jesus for strength. We also discuss our thoughts on PRIDE (as it is Pride Month) and how this celebration of LGBTQ goes against the perfect will of God and His intentional design for love in humanity. We also discuss Pronouns: should we honor them? Who is our identity found in? How do we determine what is sinful and what isn’t? What advice/words do you have for people in the LGBTQ community? Hey y'all! This is Luvlan Lee and Welcome to the Words of Love podcast. Today, I am joined by my younger sister, Loralei Lee, who will be a freshman this year at Georgia State University and Melissa Goolsby, who is a sophomore at Samford University. We talk about what all girls talk about when they're together... boys. This is like being part of a sleepover and hearing all the tea - our struggles, our failures, our rejections, but also all the exciting and infatuating feelings of having a crush/being in a relationship. Melissa shares her advice about her previous relationships and some things that she would do differently if she could. Loralei, likewise shares her experiences of sexual abuse and trauma that she experienced from a toxic relationship at a young age - how that scarred her and had a significant impact on her future life and the way she sees the world. More people need to understand that Boys will be Boys is not justification for their actions. These "boys" should not be getting into serious relationships. These little actions have a detrimental effect on the girl - their mental health, their body image, their relationships, school, faith journey, family life, everything! Take accountability for your actions. We also discuss what Jesus says about dating and marriage - what we should be seeking in a relationship. This is such an important topic for the youth of our generation, and I pray that these words will resonate with you and guide you on your dating/relationship journeys. Jesus above all. Hey y'all! In this episode, I am joined by two beautiful sisters in Christ. These two are fellow AAPI Christians and in my grade at the University of Georgia. Ally Murari (Indian/Music Major) and Sarah Park (Korean/Marketing) to share testimonies and words of encouragement. This episode focuses on Ally's story - specifically how she encountered Christ over quarantine (through Sarah), began listening to worship, and is now (almost a year later) a new born Christian!!! Worship is powerful.  Though Ally primarily grew up Hindu, her temple was very multi-cultural/religious, and took part in various forms of worship (Christianity,  Islam, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, etc.). She shares her experience and the beliefs of her previous faith, and how she realized "there's something about Jesus". Powerful. We urge one another to truly search the scriptures for Truth (what does the Bible even say about the Person of Jesus?), to incline your ears away from "sweet, self-gratifying/health and wealth gospel, to test the spirits and weed out the false prophets. This is so necessary!! The reality is... if we are doing everything right, but miss that one thing... God says He doesn't know us, we were serving a different God, and will not enter His kingdom.
