Almost five years ago, Tini, a sophomore at UGA, along with three of her friends, were involved in a tragic car accident that took their lives. Tini was smart, beautiful, kind, goofy, and so so passionate about Jesus. She loved singing, playing guitar, and sharing Him with everyone. Ms. Semeria shares Tini’s legacy and answers some important questions: How do you keep faith in the Lord throughout life’s unexpected trials? Did you ever resent God for what happened? Where did you find encouragement? What advice to you have for our generation? Today, I am joined by three of my closest friends - Providence Mpano, Kenneth Johnson, and Nathan Desta - and we discuss the next steps after realizing you desire to be in a relationship with Jesus. Perhaps you have decided to dedicate your life to following Jesus and are just ready to share Him with everyone? That is AMAZING!! But how do you start sharing Him? This podcast goes in depth into how to start that ministry and allow the Lord to use you as a vessel in making His name known. We answer questions such as: How to be a witness for Christ? What can I offer - realizing the individualized gifts God has placed in our hearts? How can you prepare to step into God's calling? And topics such as showing your true colors and not being ashamed of who Jesus is in your life. January 27, 2021 S1E12 Real Talk: Problems with Our Generation's Christianity
Hey y'all, in this episode I'm joined by none other than myself, Ms. Luvlan Lee, to discuss some of the TEA in Christianity in the younger generation. These are just patterns and observations that I've picked up on lately, and especially in college. This episode and its content is inspired by quotes from the Instagram account @jesus.loves.coffee which I love so much because she boldly points out what we as a generation are doing wrong and it's just ugh.. soo good and soooo convicting. I discuss what it means to be a true Christian yet again, but not as broadly. Specifically, I speak on 1) religion vs. relationship (being raised in church doesn't mean you love Jesus), 2) Christian relationship vs. Christian sponsorship (do you talk to Jesus as much as you post about Him on social media?), and 3) God is not making a modern translation of Scripture (Trendy Christianity and uncomfortableness of the truth). Really hope you all enjoy this one as much as I did making it. This is the stuff I've been really wishing I heard someone else speak over me because MAN, did I need to hear it. Hola a todos, en este episodio me acompaño nada menos que yo, la Sra. Luvlan Lee, para discutir algunos de los TE en el cristianismo en la generación más joven. Estos son solo patrones y observaciones que he recogido últimamente, y especialmente en la universidad. Este episodio y su contenido están inspirados en citas de la cuenta de Instagram @ jesus.loves.coffee que amo tanto porque ella señala con valentía lo que nosotros, como generación, estamos haciendo mal y es ugh ... tan bueno y tan convincente. Hablo de lo que significa ser un verdadero cristiano una vez más, pero no tan ampliamente. Específicamente, hablo de 1) religión versus relación (ser criado en la iglesia no significa que amas a Jesús), 2) relación cristiana versus patrocinio cristiano (¿hablas con Jesús tanto como publicas sobre Él en las redes sociales? ), y 3) Dios no está haciendo una traducción moderna de las Escrituras (cristianismo de moda y la incomodidad de la verdad). Realmente espero que todos disfruten de este tanto como yo lo hice. Estas son las cosas que realmente deseaba escuchar a alguien más hablar sobre mí porque MAN, ¿necesitaba escucharlo? She is a “Black Teenage Female Woman” with some fresh perspective on the topic of BLM and her experiences as a POC. She’s a Christian and has some super amazing analogies and just.... WORD. We recount her experiences and personal encounters with racial profiling, prejudice, and injustice, reflect on the prevalence of BLM and the call against police brutality in 2020, and what the Bible says about combatting racism and reaching out to other communities in love. Jesus is a God of JUSTICE. He came to set captives free and bring everlasting life. The cross symbolizes the freedom we inherit as children of God.
